relationship goals life hacks

We all must have been in a relationship whether long or short. But each one of us cannot deny that we have never been in a relationship. Apparently, we kept on thinking that how we all shall be happy in a relationship. We at times tend to be in our dreams or filmy Duniya – as we call it and try to match those love elements in real life. But there is a factor which you guys might miss on – is the essence of relationships and we ponder on why my relationship with my partner is not smooth or not moving in the right direction.

I am going to share some important tips and tricks for a happy relationship. You can call them life hacks as well and if you follow them, as per my belief, I can vouch that you end up being a happy couple. Let’s get to this blog:

Trust your partner

We should always trust our partners. I have seen a lot of men and women who keep a check on their respective partner’s mobiles or emails or etc. why guys?? If you trust them, what is the reason to do that? Trust me, if they want to hide something they will anyways do that. Most importantly having faith in each other is the recipe of a true relationship.

Trust your partner

Keep your egos aside

– Assume that there is a situation of hot discussion between you and your partner, what will you do? many times it ends up in cats and dogs fight – you know why because we clash our ego and cannot make it clam while it is needed the most. Will you try to make it up, you may find the answer is NO or sarcastic. The thought process is, if it’s not my mistake why should I say sorry, this is what we hear from a lot of couples.

Keep your egos aside

Guys when one person is angry other have to be calm, this is the mantra of a happy and successful relationship. Trust me you won’t be small if you somehow calm your partner.  In the long run, you and your partner will come closer to each other.  This is being tried by a lot of people and the results are astonishing.

Healthy Sex

we tend to think that how can sex help in having a good and happy relationship. Ohh, then, guys you are mistaken. A lot of tests and research is done and its proven scientifically that if a couple has sex 2-3 times in a week they are happier, mentally, socially and physically.  This is one of the crucial parts of a joyful relationship. Good sex not only releases stress but also bring us close to each other emotionally.

Spend quality time

– With this fast moving life, we forget the importance of being with each other in both good and bad times. More we spend time with our partner better our relationship will be. Go for a walk with him/her may be for 15-20 min but that time shall be totally yours.  Or go on a dinner date with each other keeping your mobile phones aside. try to fetch out your time – talking about all things which both of you like. These things look kiddish but when you do it, you start feeling close to your partner. More you do it, closer you are.

Spend quality time lifestyle blog

Give Importance to each other’s work – This is another common problem that we see among couples. Especially, in the Indian context where men don’t give priority to his better half’s work or maybe females at the workplace. Giving equal importance to each other’s work will bring harmony and consent in a relationship. No Work is big or small and everyone’s work is important. If we understand this, the chances of having quarrel and fights will be minimal

Give Importance to each other's work

Share home chores Helping is caring – when we can teach our kids this, why can’t we do the same. Always help your partner in whatever he or she is doing. Be there in the home chores equally with them. The idea is to be with him or her. be there with her in the kitchen, assist her in kitchen stuff. it is not necessary that you should know about cooking. If he is washing his car she can help in that. These small things bring you closer. Similarly, she can be a help to him in his house stuff.

kitchen chores help lifestyle blog

Give Space – Always give some space to the person whom you are associated with. People say why you need privacy. I say that everyone needs it to be men or women. Giving privacy is not that they are cheating on you. There are times where they want to be with themselves without worrying about other things.  it is like rejuvenating oneself. They may be alone or with their friends or somewhere else where they may be just on their own. Trust me this is one of the important things which we tend to forget.

give space privacy lifestyle blog

These are some of the hacks that if you follow, it will not only increase the trust and love in your relationship but you will start enjoying each other’s company more, making your relationship to sustain for a long time.

Be Happy guys 🙂 Make your life better 🙂

When I planned my trip to Assam I had no idea what it would be, as it is the first time I was travelling to Northeast India. These seven states have always lured me to my heart for exploration to the core and when I got a chance to take a bike ride trip for 10 days I was super excited and on my toes. I’m sure this small travel blog will give you a hands full information and my experience about the pilgrim and religious life of Assam.

Northeast India Travel Blog - Religious & Heritage Assam Tour

Let’s get started with an overview

North east india map with seven sisters

The seven states of India’s northeast (NE) are dotingly called Seven Sisters, and Assam is the eldest of these. Why they are called with this name is very simple to understand but for this one has to go back in time to know. A quick one for you – The Four of today’s independent States―Arunachal Pradesh, Meghalaya, Nagaland and Mizoram were a part of the undivided Assam till 1972. Apparently, the present day Assam continues to be the doorway to the North East.

The international airport and the main railway station in Guwahati is the key point for all the nearby destinations and flights to take nationally and internationally. These seven states are amazing in their own way and one can really find one’s soul in peace when in Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, and others. The entire region has unmatched natural beauty and mystical aura. There is too much to write on these states thus, I’m starting with religious travel blog first.

Kamakhya Temple

It is the holiest temple of the Hindus and is one of the oldest Shakti Peeth out of 51 of Goddess Durga. This temple is not only known for a pilgrim but it has a mythological and mystery attached to it. You can read more about it in my dedicated blog on this temple soon. It is on the top of the Nilachal Hills, where a huge number of devotees come during the Manasha puja and Ambubachi. There are other temples surrounding the main temple which are dedicated to many other goddesses and deities, which are called as Dasa Mahavidya. Kamakhya Devi is respected as the ‘Bleeding Goddess’ and because of it alleged that the goddess ‘menstruates’ during this period. If you are a traveller then try to visit on working days as weekends are decked up with locals.

Nabagraha Temple

Another distinguished temple in the city is the Nabagraha which signifies the temple of nine planets. The temple of nine celestial bodies is located on a hill named Chitrachal in the southeastern part of the city of Guwahati. The most important celestial boy is the sun and there are 9 phallic emblems of Lord Shiva. Each of these represents different colour and arrayed in a different coloured cloth – they are Surya, Chandra, Mangala, Budha, Brihaspati, Shukra, Shani, Rahu and Ketu.

Due to this the temple is also a research centre of both astrology and astronomy. The tower of the temple is now a bigger one as it was destroyed in the earthquake, but, later it was resurrected. Noticing the inner part of the temple – the Garbhagriha survived the earthquake, while the upper portion was rebuilt.

Umananda Temple

The Umananda Temple located at the centre of the Brahmaputra River, you have to take a ferry to visit this temple. It is a peaceful and tranquil place to be. The view from the ferry and the river is mesmerising.

Hindus come in large numbers to visit this temple of Lord Shiva. On the occasion of Maha Shivratri, there is a grand celebration. A huge number of people observe fast and offer their prayers on this holy day.

Mahamaya Dham Temple

The Mahamaya Temple is another prime religious temple of Hindus. It is located in western Assam. There are a group of temples as well dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is believed that if one ties a tiny bell on a banyan tree here then the wishes come true. It is one of the greatest Shakti Peethas for Hindu pilgrims ‘Parvatjowar’ the local Devotees like – Kacharies, Koches and Naths worship Goddess Mahamaya. She is a beautiful goddess deity, do visit this place.

Hajo, Assam

This place is full of magic, trust me, it has one huge mosque called as Powa-Mecca, it has a church, a Gurudwara Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Sahib and Hindu temples or Lord Shiva and Ganesh in the area surrounding. This place is like an Enshrined religious harmony with the amalgamation of Hindu, Muslims and Buddhists worshipping places. It is a small town on the banks of Brahmaputra river, just 24 km from Guwahati. The Hayagriva Madhava Mandir, Powa-Mecca, Ganesh temple, Kedar temple. All these sites are under the Archeological survey of India and fall under world heritage sites.

There are many other historic and heritage pilgrim temples in Assam like few in Tezpur, Shivsagar, Majuli island and others. But these are the most prominent ones. If you need more details about these temples and their history contact me will try to share some more info. Also, if you wish to read more about travel blogs click here. For now, if you are planning to visit Assam, then put these in your itinerary. You will be awe-struck with the beauty and peace for self-exploration.

Hong Kong Skyline Spirited Blogger

No wonder Hong Kong is a metropolitan country that does not have a rich history in terms of reign and emperors but yes it has, in fact, quite an interesting fact which is that – Hong Kong was under the British rule from 1841 to 1997 before handing sovereignty over to China. This agreement was established post a 50-year period of autonomy when Hong Kong achieved governance by a “One Country, Two Systems” agreement. Since then it is a complex yet technologically advanced nation and is a “Special Administrative Region” of China with its own currency, constitution, passports, and official languages (Cantonese and English). This travel blog will take you to a few things that are essential before you travel to Hong Kong

Please note that, do not speak Mandarin when in Hong Kong, they do not consider it as their language as per locals, thus avoid this act.

Hongkongers are very proud of their culture and heritage thus when in Hong Kong learn few gestures and signs which can make them feel like being an expat. For instance, avoid addressing them as Chinese as and they are proud to be Cantonese rather than an extension of Chinese.

The currency

Hong Kong currency is Hong Kong dollars – HK$ – The Hong Kong dollar is the official currency of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region. It is subdivided into 100 cents. The Hong Kong Monetary Authority is the governmental currency board and also the de facto central bank for Hong Kong and the Hong Kong dollar. Official website: hkma.gov.hk

You can exchange your currency at the airport or else you have reliable foreign money exchange counters in the city within your location. If not required do not carry much of cash as you may find ATM’s and money exchange counters easily. But remember you will have to carry a lot of cash while shopping and roaming around as Hong Kong deals in cash majorly.

Getting around

Getting around Hong Kong in the budget is possible via metro line, ferries, and buses. A very well connected network all through Hong Kong. In fact, take the airport express train from the airport for central as it is just 24 minutes and cheap.

Another historic mode of transport is a ferry that is very cheap – starts from 2 HK$ from Victoria harbour and then you can take a tram to the Central Peak which is the skyline of Hong Kong. (it is just 30 cents).

Remember before you step out the airport please buy an Octopus card. It is not only for public transport but it gets used at convenience stores, and even at some coffee shops. This card is really helpful for solo travellers and for travellers who are travelling on a low budget. Hong Kong does have Uber and affordable taxis – that starts from $3); however, the latter sees a “changeover” in hours as the shift changes.

What to pack before you come here

Hong Kong weather sometimes is unpredictable – still, the entire year Hong Kong is oppressively quite hot and humid. When you listen to any local saying that it is summers – they mean it is the season that stretches from late April to late October. This means it has a rainy season as well. Please carry lots of jackets, an umbrella, rain sheets, as rain showers are unpredictable. Moreover, Hongkongers never turn off air conditioners – it is pretty cold inside the hotels and at the workplace. So better be warm is the tip.

Eat as locals do

The biggest hurdle for a traveller in Hong Kong is the variety of Cantonese and Chinese food, from which to distinguish is a big task. Do share food as Chinese cuisine is all about sharing. If you sharing twosome then order one portion and share. Enjoy dim sum at traditional restaurants on the streets near central, Tsim Sha Tsui, Kowloon etc. Do remember not to put the chopsticks in a vertical position as it is a sign associated with funerals.

Shopping

For the serious traveller, Hong Kong is a shopping paradise but no second thought Hong Kong is dammed expensive for any national coming here for shopping. You’ll find ample shops in every possible street in Hong Kong. You’ll be spoilt for all the vivid choices the streets have to offer. From the Avante Grande malls to all the international brands’ outlets at central and Tsim Sha Tsui you will get hooked by the variety it has to offer.

Hong Kong Shopping Malls Central Peak

But for shoppers who looking for bargained shopping explore the largest shopping street in Hong Kong – Temple Street. Do also check other streets in Yau Ma Tei and Tung Street in Mong Kok for cheap clothes and electronics. With this do explore Granville Road in Tsim Sha Tsui and Cheung Sha Wan Road in Sham Shui Po for cheap clothes.

Temple Street Hong Kong Spirited Blogger

One tip – Bargain, bargain and bargain as much as you can, show your skills if you do not see any price on the products, but if you see any price on the product this means the attendant will not be willing to negotiate.

Nightlife

Hong Kong is not quite popular for a good late night culture, but this is not right it is like another New York or Manhattan. It is not a speedy country, and can’t be compared with the neighbouring Bangkok but the evenings and night clubs are happening, in the pubs of Tsim Sha Tsui – where you may find many expats taking a stroll on the sideways of the streets. It is filled with locals too. Lan Kwai Fong is the city’s nightlife heart and comes alive as happy hour slopes in and on the weekend nights, the street turns into one big open-air bar and LGBTQ nightlife scene with doors open for all. Sky bars are big business here, and please remember if you intend to experience be ready to eye-watering prices for cocktails.

Please note: Do feel free to carry around a beer or glass of wine in the street as Hong Kong has lax open-container laws.

Here’s a quick sneak peek into some basics to survive in HK:

  • You don’t have to be fluent in English while talking to the locals but please speak slowly so that they understand word by word in pieces.
  • Don’t use flowery or tough English terms. Keep it simple.
  • Try to catch their actions if not able to make them understand what you are asking.

You can also learn a few Cantonese phrases online.

  • Hello – Néih hóu (pronunciation: Neyi Hou)
  • Good Morning – jóusàhn (pronunciation: Sou San)
  • How are you doing? – néih hóu ma (pronunciation: Layi Hou Maa)
  • I don’t speak Cantonese – ngóh m̀hsìk góng gwóngdùngwá (pronunciation: Wa sihk gwong dung waa)
  • I’m a vegetarian – ngóh sihk jāai (pronunciation: Wa sihk taai)
  • How much is it? – Géidō chín a (pronunciation: gei cin aa)
  • Are there any discounts? – yau mou zit aa (pronunciation: yau mou zit aa)

Bollywood is always known for thrillers, and movies infused with mysteries and suspense have its own audience in Bollywood industry. Reasons for this are many, they keep you stick to your chair; they thrill you every second for guessing what is coming next, etc. With its own set of audience, thriller movies have created their own niche in Bollywood. On the contrary, there are some underrated movies that seem to be intriguing yet not hyped much. For example, Nirdosh a suspense thriller of ZEE5 that casts Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Fadnnis is one of the best thrillers of 2018. However, it did not grab the kind of attention it deserved from the audience. You would probably know quite a few of them and must have watched as well, but here’s a rundown of a few, Check the list below:

Nirdosh

Let’s kick things off with the movie that I blew me away recently. Nirdosh dropped in the theatre in 2018. This suspense thriller cast Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Phadnis in the lead roles. The story revolves around a family of three that came to a toppling affair when a paying guest Mahek Chahal comes to stay with them. The movie is directed by Pradeep Rangwani and Subroto Paul. They have tried to make the story engaging through a brutish investigating Inspector Lokhande who arrests Manjari Fadnnis as a prime suspect. Later in the story, we realise that everyone seems to be a suspect in this murder mystery thriller. Arbaaz Khan looks handsome as always, and Ashmit Patel too had an appealing look in the movie. The other cast too did a fair amount of justice to their role. You can Watch Nirdosh Online anytime you want.

8X10 Tasveer

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor – 8X10 Tasveer is a Hindi psychological thriller starring Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia, Sharmila Tagore, and Javed Jaffrey. Right from the bat, one can see that the movie travels along with the character Jai, who is a forest ranger in Canada with a unique trait of seeing things in past just by starring at the photographs. He developed this mysterious talent when he died in an accident under mysterious circumstances. Further, he starts looking for his father’s murderers with the help of his psychic powers. The cast of the movie leads movies were able to keep me hooked to my chair. Akshay Kumar – the star himself has done wonderfully well. Ayesha Takia plays a good role but, to be very honest, it was not that impactful, whereas Javed has justified the character’s needs. Overall this thriller is a must watch for all thriller lovers.

8X10 Tasveer Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Shagird

The 2011 thriller is directed by none other than Tigmanshu Dhulia and stars Nana Patekar as Hanumant Singh, Mohit Ahlawat as Mohit Kumar and Rimi Sen as Varsha Mathur in the lead roles. With such a food casting crew, Tigmanshu Dhulia cooked up a great cop thriller. In Shagird, a rookie cop questions the tactics of his bosses and tries to track the kidnappers of his girlfriend. Unlike the others mentioned in the list, Shagird has jiffies of authority and an uneven, clammy texture that thuds particularly when the camera twists through the bylanes of Old Delhi. It is a crime action thriller which starts with Bunty Bhaiya, who is the gangster and has been arrested in Ghaziabad. What follows forms the entire story of the movie. In a nutshell, it is one cop thriller that no Nana Patekar fan can afford to miss.

Shagrid Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Phobia

Phobia – I must say that it is a must watch movie for a Radhika Apte fan. She is a phenomenal actress and has done all the justice to her role in this psychological thriller which got released in 2016. The movie is directed by Pavan Kirpalani and produced by Viki Rajani. Phobia revolves around the life of Mehak Deo (Radhika Apte) who suffers from agoraphobia. She is not able to respond and interact with people who are unknown to her and thus, remains aloof in her apartment. To make matters worse turns out that the apartment that she holds herself in has a traumatised history of a tenant who inexplicably vanished. The plot is interesting, and the background score from Karan Gaur makes the whole story appealing and edged.

Phobia Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Bollywood has been superlative in terms of cinema, and the above mentioned are a few movies that did not get the response from the audience. Had they got the right amount of attention, many of them would have ended up as future classics. Nonetheless, they are spectacular in their own way. Watch them on ZEE5 whenever you want.

Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

Holi is an ancient and prevalent Hindu religious festival distinguished throughout India. It is a spring festival, also known as the festival of colours. The colourful festival of Holi is celebrated on Phalgun Purnima which befalls around the month of March. It is the second most extensively celebrated festival of India after Diwali.

The story

This festival is celebrated as the victory of good over bad also. There are numerous mythological stories behind the origin of the festival. But, one which is in Indian traditions is about killing Holika, the sister of Hrinyakashyap. – Owing to that it is celebrated. Holi festival is also broadly related with the immortal love of Krishna and Radha. The festival also holds implication with reverence to end of winter season and the onset of the summer season. So, there are many on the charts as Indian religion is vast.

Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

With a long weekend coming up this Holi, it is the time to put on your travelling shoes and travel to some of the below-mentioned destinations in India for some crazy Holi celebrations. Get beaten with sticks, or enjoy a concert or join the locals in the streets as they shower gulal and water to each other or get drenched with vibrantly coloured powders and water or watch the ‘Holika Dahan’ or just calmly soak in the bewildering experience of perceiving the band of itinerant spiritualist minstrels of Bengal. Witness all this on Holi 2019 in a different than the usual way, as India is Incredible.

Just pick up any destination from the below and play your famous Holi festival in India Go Travel!

  1. Barsana, Uttar Pradesh: Holi with Sticks

Barsana, Uttar Pradesh: Holi with Sticks Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

Indian men don’t always rule the nestle! The women of Barsana and Nandgaon villages near Mathura in Uttar Pradesh hit men with sticks – no wonder it is the tradition in town which is known as Lathmar Holi celebrations. Unfortunately, I being a solo traveller would not recommend the other solo travellers to come here alone due to the repulsive behaviour of men, who continue to go around assaulting women. However, you can visit it with your friends or group to experience the sight to catch the giggling women taking absolute pleasure in putting the sticks to use. The Barsana Holi is definitely the most famous places to celebrate Holi in India and will give you all the ambiences of Mathura Holi for sure!

  1. Mathura and Vrindavan, Uttar Pradesh: Traditional Holi

Mathura and Vrindavan Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

It is one of the most additional Holi celebrated in India. Here the Holi celebrations get underway on Vasant Panchami which is the end of winter – 40 days before the main Holi-day. It is in the town of Mathura and Vrindavan – an easy four-hour drive from Delhi. Mathura is also well known as the birthplace of Lord Krishna, while Vrindavan is the place where he spent his childhood. Also to notice is that on Ekadashi before Holi, the city celebrates Phoolon wali Holi where flowers are thrown at the devotees by the temple priests. Vrindavan is also known for a unique celebration of Holi where Widow’s Holi began a few years back to break the resolution that prevented widows from playing with colours or wearing coloured clothes.

  1. Shantiniketan

Shantiniketan Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

Shantiniketan is a timeworn and leading university in West Bengal, where the great Nobel laureate and poet, Rabindranath Tagore introduced the Basant Utsav to re-experience the ancient tradition. Till today the ritual is followed and celebrated in matchless enthusiasm and vigour. Inspired by Holi and springtime the students dress up in a colourful outfit and put on a huge ethnic extravaganza for the visitors. All this contentment, colours, and joy of Shantiniketan make it the best Holi celebration in India. Students wear up in spring colours and put on a huge traditional program for visitors, including dances to Tagore’s songs. This is followed by the typical throwing of colours. Basanta Utsav has become a valued part of Bengali history and culture, and it fascinates abundant foreign tourists.

  1. Jaipur, Rajasthan: Holi and Elephants

Jaipur, Rajasthan: Holi and Elephants Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

This is one its kind in India and is celebrated with full enthusiasm and zeal. It is an elephant festival which kicks off Holi celebrations in Jaipur every year on Holi eve. Elephant parades, elephant beauty contests, traditional dances, and the tug-of-war between elephants, locals and foreigners are some of the events on this day. This destination can be covered by solo travellers as well. All this makes Holi extra fun! Please see: That this event hasn’t been held since 2012 due to pressure from animal rights groups. So, if you do not get this you can try Holi of Pushkar and Udaipur it has its own unique charm and playful atmosphere with loads of sweets to relish.

  1. Punjab

Punjab Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

Punjab in India is a traditional and rich state with a variant of festivals and customs. One such is Holi too! The celebrations of Holi in Punjab are by the Sikhs which differ from the entire country in many ways. The locals shout-out their hearts following their tradition. Besides, they display their martial arts on this day and have fun with colours in the evening. Delicious halwa, puris, gujias, and malpuas are eaten and served to others.

  1. Hampi

Hampi Holi Blog - Spirited Blogger

It is sporadic to find celebrations of Holi in South India. But, it is true Hampi is one of the known destinations for Holi, people from all over the world come here to celebrate Holi. And this is because of the presence of a large number of western tourists in Hampi and this is because it is a world heritage site and quite popular among foreigners. In addition to the use of coloured powder & liquid colours, the celebrations of Holi in Hampi also include a loud riot of music and dance.

Balance is Better, it is the theme this year. Everyone is promoting it and talking about gender equality. They are saying that there should be gender equality in our society and including UN Women and the United Nations support this theme – #balanceisbetter.

International Women’s Day 2019 – IWD 2019 – Spirited Blogger

Gender equality is not just a taboo or an issue prevalent in our societies but it is now like the disease that not only impacts women but it affects us all. With not stretching on feminism as I’m not a feminist to the core I would say this day and perhaps every day let’s get together to achieve gender equality, which will create a better future for all.

International Women’s Day 2019 – IWD 2019 – Spirited Blogger

As a woman, I have struggled slice by slice all through my life and still struggling with patriarchy and gender inequality in the workplace. Quit my job for my daughter to bring her up alone. I have no helping hand to support mentally and financially and what not I have been facing, but I’m not here to write about my story, in fact, no one’s story. I urge and wish to impact the women out there to be on your own and be strong in their decisions no matter they can be terrible but if you believe in them, in reality, no one can stop you.

International Women’s Day 2019 – IWD 2019 – Spirited Blogger

With my last year’s blog where I have given some examples and quotes of successful and strong women, I would like this year to be talking about equal rights for all humans. For me, a woman’s day is every day. Every single day the achievements and celebration of women shall be honoured and revered.

International Women’s Day is gleefully and profligately celebrated all over the world idolizing the notable contributions and achievements of women who have excelled in their corresponding domains. It is not essential that these women have to be the CEOs or owners of multinational companies; they can be an average woman making little or big contributions in their own way to the society. The agenda is to celebrate women’s achievement and raise awareness against bias in our own way. Take the action for gender equality and share equal ownership for driving gender parity on this International Women’s Day.

International Women’s Day 2019 – IWD 2019 – Spirited Blogger

Gloria Steinem, world-renowned feminist, journalist and activist once explained: “The story of women’s struggle for equality belongs to no single feminist nor to any one organization but to the collective efforts of all who care about human rights.” So make International Women’s Day your day and do what you can to truly make a positive difference for women.

Gloria Steinem,
Gloria Steinem,

What I feel and wish to convey is a balanced world which is a better world. How can you help forge a more gender-balanced world?

ShiviOctober 5, 201814min1494

Spiti Valley – the moment this name comes, a lot of people get amazed and ask ohh, is this in India and if yes where? This is a hidden isolated world in Himachal Pradesh which is a wonder in itself. This blog is close to my heart and you will get to read more such on Spiti valley as this place is a treasure chest for me and I’m sure many traveller enthusiasts would agree with me.

Treasure chest – just two words to say about a world that was forbidden to visitors for about 30 years. Travelling to Spiti Valley is like Time Travel, you tend to get a feeling of getting in a time machine and travel to a world and time unknown. Wow! Goosebumps.

Spiti Valley - Himachal Pradesh
Spiti Valley – Himachal Pradesh

This blog is based on my recent 10-day bike travel to Spiti valley with a rider me being a pillion on Royal Enfield 500 cc. In particular, this blog is about 6 reasons to visit Spiti Valley – the hidden treasure of Himachal Pradesh. So let’s start by knowing the place a bit.

“Thousands of tired, nerve-shaken, over-civilized people are beginning to find out that going to the mountains is going home; that wildness is a necessity.” – John Muir

This all belongs to Spiti that lies across the main range of Himalayas, called the Trans-Himalaya. But hey, wait, what are those things that come to your mind when we think about Himalaya. Spiti is 13,800 square kilometres of untamed land. Lush green meadows, misty mountains with dense pine forests, snowing ranges, and soaring high snow peaks. On the contrary, if I say you won’t get to see much of these in Spiti valleys then? What I wanted to say is – Spiti is the complete divergence of all that, but just as beautiful as the other side of Himalayas.

Spiti Valley is a cold desert mountain valley that is situated in the Himalayas – the north-eastern part of Himachal Pradesh. It is the land of barren hills, gorgeous lakes, grey scree slopes, rubble rocks, muddy terrains, and some of the world’s highest inhabited villages that are secluded with the least of 30 humans, and as their population and not more than 100 people in one village at the max. it is a land of beautiful monasteries hovering histrionically over its landscape. The touch of desolateness and a sense of ancient civilisation are some add-ons. The name “Spiti” means “The Middle Land”, i.e. the land between Tibet and India. Let’s find out reasons to visit this unadulterated and hidden treasure that has gradually getting transformed into an exotic tourist destination. Let’s see…

Reason 1

Spiti valley is also home to the highest motorable village in Asia – Komic it is a beautiful scenic village where the temperature dips to -30 degrees Celsius in winters. The landscapes are amazing that will leave you awe-struck.

The world's highest village with a road: Komik, Spiti Valley, Himachal Pradesh

This village has a population of around 50 to 60 people. The houses here, separated by swish lawns and green threads of the loom with wooden windows and doors, very Indo-Tibetan feel. This set up gives everyone enough room to bask in the winter sun. These houses are a welcome change from our congested city houses.

Reason 2

Spiti is the secluded terrain for many visitors yet there is a reason to visit because of plenty of homestays in this scarcely inhabited Spiti. My favourite is Solo Yolo – Kaza and for more on homestays in Spiti read next blog

This gives you a wonderful opportunity to the visitors to learn about their culture and stays with locals. Most of these homestays are in the middle of the villages and at a very high altitude giving you the perfect view of the entire valley.

Reason 3

It has a beautiful monastery amidst the mountains that dates back to 996 AD. Key Gompa is a Tibetan Buddhist monastery located on top of a hill at an altitude of 4,166 metres (13,668 ft) above sea level, close to the Spiti River. It is the biggest monastery of Spiti Valley and a religious training centre for Lamas. It reportedly had 100 monks in 1855. You can stay in the monastery and pray in the praying room.

Reason 4

The monasteries are one such reason for not to miss visiting Spiti. There are many monasteries in Spiti that are considered to be the centre of Buddhism; you will get to unwind your soul in this perfect place. Come to stay in monasteries and have some soul-searching.

Reason 5

The glorious and stunning view of the Milky Way at Pin Valley, you get to have them at Tabo and Kaza as well. In fact, Chandra Tal shall not be missed for star gazing and this amazing view to fall in love.

Now that’s a sight we simply don’t get at too many places.

Reason 6

There are dozens of lakes in Spiti that are neatly tucked away in the valley for you to discover. One such major tourist destination known for some of the toughest and exciting motorable roads in India is a stop at Chandra Tal lake – the lake of the moon. It is on the Samudra Tapu plateau overlooking the Chandra River. It is at the altitude of 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in the Himalayas. Camping by this lake under the starry skies is exactly the kind of life-changing experience you are looking for.

These are some of the reasons to visit Spiti – an offbeat travel destination in India. Here are many more offbeat destinations in India which you can choose for your next travel.

Mumbai has a quite mixed and complexly layered history that dates back to the East India Company’s era. This unique history was our whole idea to explore behind having this one-day event called as – street walk photography – Mumbai walk. This event was organised by a group Backpacking Budget Travelling in India.

Where we explored many old architectural buildings on south Bombay that best reflects its diverse architectural buildings and combination of many worlds and eras. One can see High Victorian to the Indo-Islamic tinge of the era in the design and architecture of these buildings.

We all started from one meeting place from south Bombay near CSTM railway station, waited for the gang to gather and then the heritage walk began. We roam the streets and explored many iconic buildings, that has aesthetic appeal and best represents the unique offerings of Mumbai.  The art deco and modern buildings give the city its cool and fresh look. , but it’s the diverse Victorian-era structures – the neo-Gothic, Indo-Saracenic and Venetian Gothic medley – that have come to describe Mumbai and make her the showy beauty that she is. All the shapes and the designs, the spires, the tombs, the gables and the arches – everything makes for a pleasant walk through the city’s past. Let’s talk about what all we explored – though there were many but have a look at the major ones. Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (Victoria Terminus), Taj Mahal Palace hotel, the Gateway of India – these live up to their reputation, and the great joys are the church, Kayani’s, Bademiya, Jimmy’s etc. etc.

The Gateway Of India – Mumbai’s most significant monument was built to venerate the visit of King George V and Queen Mary to the city. “A woman with a voice is by definition a strong woman. But the search to find that voice can be remarkably difficult.”  Melinda Gates

Such a wonderful statement from a one of the strong lady in the world! I’ll not be talking about Happy International Women’s Day, Nah, well every year I do so, we all do so, sending memes, quotes, messages – which is absolutely fine!

But does it actually reach out to the women across the globe with the same intensity and passion to be different and in love with oneself? Yes, I’m talking about loving yourself, being the best of you, standing out against all odds and shine like a diamond. Let everyone know who you are!

You are a woman of your choice

You are born to love

You are born to give birth

You are a magic maker and a creator of this lovely world!

Every man should respect you for their existence

But does he understand, is the question!

But does the society give her all the right she is worthy of!

…………………………………………………………………………………………………….

You are a horse running alone in the wind

And he tries to tame you,

He tries to thrash you, crush you like a dried leaf,

Tries to hold you back, and make you feel like,

You are picked and dragged through an air of violent nightfall

He loves you with the promise of #Being #there

Then why does he ditch you to get #soldout

He kisses you to be yours forever

Then why does he rape you every night

He educates you to be successful then why does he assault you

He wants you to be the CEO of his company,

Then why does he pulls you back by bitching around

He says I’m your BFF, Best friend forever

Then why does he leaves you lonely in pain and tears

And this continues timelessly and shamelessly

The walls around her heart try to keep her contented in soreness

But the end to molestation, rape, assault, betrayal doesn’t conclude

These ruthless societies never give a sigh of relief

These hypocrites are ruining her soul within

Women's Day Spirited Blogger

……………………………………………………………………

Does she have a choice?

Yes, of course, she did have one, in fact, many

Until she recognizes her own spirit and strength

………………………………………………………………….

She is the fire, she shines like a diamond

She is like a rivulet gushing subtly making her own way

She chooses to be strong and beautiful

No matter what comes she kill the evil with her charm

She is impeccable in defying what he does to her

She is bestowed with forgiveness

She is a separatist from the critics

She accepts her mistakes and never gives up

She enlightens her kids’ soul

She is the heart of every family

No matter how she is torn apart

She rises above from worldly unchasteness

Coz, only God can see her virtuous soul underneath

She is the woman of her own choice

She is the #freespirit

Here’s a beautiful compilation of #freespirit – International Women’s Day

Share and spread the word so that at least a woman can help a woman to fight the evils. Apparently, the day when a woman will become a woman’s best friend, the society will nurture.
