Travel restrictions in Himachal Pradesh – Check before you travel

To start this blog, I would like to first appeal to everyone not to travel for some time more until the situations become under control. India is on the brim of herd community and we may see it happening in coming weeks. I’m not scaring you, God forbid if the infection catches you and your loved ones it is super tough to come out. COIVD is not a joke. Anyway moving further to what I wanted to convey is the latest travel restrictions in the Indian state Himachal Pradesh.

We saw a surge of tourist flagging to this beautiful and holy state of India in the months from Jan 2021 to April 2021. Still, there are tour operators who are working on the packages and are ready to take the road trips and hiking tours.

OKAY, I know that the industry had immensely affected by the pandemic and the tourism industry is one of the most impacted and is going under loss. However, breaks are imperative on this phenomenon as it is, directly and indirectly, increasing the cases. The worst part is that this virus mutant shows signs in 14 days and it remains for around 14 days, which makes it daunting to monitor and know where al all it is spreading.

To know all about Kumbh mela in 2021 click here.

In Himachal recently the Government has imposed a night curfew in certain districts. Solan, Sirmaur, Kangra, and Una, imposed night curfew from April 27th to May 10th – 10 pm to 5 am. Also Himachal Pradesh government also made the RT-PCR test mandatory within 72 hours for those who are coming into the state. Those who are not tested will be required to go into home quarantine or isolation at their residence for 14 days.

Additionally, other states have restricted the entry of buses, flights, and inter commute for a certain period. Please make sure to move only if it is necessary and urgent. Request everyone to be safe and avoid travelling for leisure and holidays for some time.

Kumbh is one of the largest religious gatherings in the world. Kumbh is held periodically at four different locations in India — Nashik, Haridwar, Prayagraj, and Ujjain. In normal circumstances, Kumbh continues for nearly four months but this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the duration of the congregation has been curtailed to one month.

The first shahi snan was held on March 11 on the occasion of Mahashivratri, while the second was held on April 12. Wow, this is incredible – India is incredible but are we meaning with it.

Despite rising COVID cases, Haridwar is jam-packed with pilgrims for Kumbh Mela on April 12. COVID protocols were flouted as devotees performed the rituals.

Global Recycling Day – Did you Know about it? We are Dying!

Global Recycle Day

Today the world is moving towards a sustainable future. Business tycoons, big conglomerates, huge industries, start-ups, small and medium scale business are understanding the need to work on reducing waste and working on sustainable grounds for the impact of the global waste management crisis.

In 2018 it called for a dire need to commemorate Global Recycling day. The last decade has been the hottest on record, and we are now facing a climate emergency of unparalleled proportions. If we don’t make significant and rapid changes, we will see continued rising global temperatures, the melting of icecaps, continents on fire and rapid deforestation. (www.globalrecyclingday.com).

Go green reuse recycle

This directly affects humanity with increased poverty, immigration from displaced communities, job losses, waste mountains and natural habitats disappearing. We have the power to make lasting changes to combat this, and with recycling being recognized in the UN’s Sustainable Development Goals 2030, we are already seeing many individuals, governments and organisations taking direct action to support the global green agenda.

Recycling is a key part of the circular economy, helping to protect our natural resources. Each year the ‘Seventh Resource’ (recyclables) saves over 700 million tonnes in CO2 emissions and this is projected to increase to 1 billion tons by 2030. There is no doubt recycling is on the front line in the war to save the future of our planet and humanity.

The Global Recycling Foundation is pleased to announce the theme of Global Recycling Day 2021 as #RecyclingHeroes. This will recognise the people, places and activities that showcase what an important role recycling plays in contributing to an environmentally stable planet and a greener future that will benefit all.

Go green reuse recycle

Below are 10 ways to recycle, some of which also help with reducing and reusing.

Use reusable bags instead of plastic

Using plastic bags are banned in some parts of the world. Still, there are places where they are used, sadly it is not beneficial for the environment and health too. What you can do is, instead is to use cotton or cloth bags. Reuses them, wash, dry, use and reuses – with the same process.

Reuse scrap paper for crafts

This is something I would like to point out as reusing the scarp papers at the office and in the house of elsewhere is a wonderful technique to reduce waste. Wasting paper is wasting trees. We can reuse these scrap papers for mailing craft, strips tapes, colorful and decorative paper strips for other crafts decoration etc.

Use cloth napkins and towels Using cloth napkins and towels in the kitchen and bathrooms will help to reduce paper consumption and give you a reusable product, possibly saving you a couple of hundred dollars a year.

Repurpose glass jars and containers

Why pay extra for these food-filled glass containers, why not reuse them for other household items that need a new container? You can look up many DIYs and green décor ides on Pinterest, YouTube and Instagram. They show how to reuse and recycle plain glass jars into pretty home-products, ranging from food containers to decorative light-hangers.

Recycle Electronics

Even if you’ve tried everything you can to revive your electronic device, laptop or computer, don’t just dump it in the garbage. You can donate it to charities that can fix it up or send it back to the manufacturer that will end up recycling the body and parts for other products. Some ink cartridge manufacturers will give you a prepaid label to mail back used-cartridges to recycle. Look into the manufacturers of your devices and find out about their recycling programs.

Go green reuse recycle

Some are extreme ways to recycle

The above are the basic that you can do every time daily. Now 5 extreme ways to recycle, and if you are super serious about green living then you can continue using these tricks for recycling.

Recycle water – This one is a big investment, as you’d have to reconfigure your water pipes so that bathwater and sink water can be used for either flushing the toilet or for watering your yards. You’ll be recycling the water to serve more than just a single purpose and as a result, also saving more on your water bills.

Make your compost – How much do you consciously and unconsciously leaving behind the waste have you ever realised. What you need to do is leave your organic waste in a compost bin to decompose so that you can recycle the compost for plants. Be sure that you have the right container and put only decomposable items in.

Switch to using cloth diapers – Using cloth diapers for your child may seem outdated, but women used them for ages. Today what we have – Disposable diapers aren’t usually put into recycling categories, so you can choose to use cloth diapers if you truly want to go green. Search on google you may find many companies and start-ups that are providing these.

Collect rainwater to use for watering plants – if you are not living in a state like California or an Indian state like Chennai – which is almost a draught then you can perfectly harvest and conserve rainwater. You must take advantage of the rainy season and recycling the rainwater. Save more money on your water bill by using natural water for watering your indoor or outdoor plants.

Buy secondhand furniture on Craigslist or eBay – Check out secondhand furniture found on Craigslist or eBay. It’s one of the greatest ways to recycle furniture that is still usable and also reduces trash in the landfill.

True green living requires a lifestyle change, but there are little things you can do that will help our landfills from becoming unusable. Just follow these ways to recycle, and you’ll be on your way to having less garbage and wasted resources.

Go green reuse recycle

Quick Facts:

India is known to generate over 65 million tonnes of waste every year. Not to your surprise it is one of the highest in the world.

India ranks third in terms of greenhouse gas emissions. All thanks to poor waste management.

By 2050, if the world survives India will be staggering to 88 square km of land for waste disposal through landfilling.

As per the recent report by a private research frim India is 77%  of waste is disposed in open dumbs, whereas 18% is composted, and only 5% is recycled.

Not to shock you – India is also the third-largest in the world for producing electronic waste after China and the USA.
Globally 23% of disposable water bottles are recycled each year

Glass is 100 % recycled and can be recycled endlessly without any loss in quality and purity. However if unrecycled it could take 4000 years or more for it to recycle or decompose naturally.

70% of total waste in Indian offices is of paper.

The whole idea is that today we have a couple of sustainable options for living wherein we can use them and we have a means for producing them too. The only thing lacking is we do not do it on our own. We preach and only preach. I have started my bit in my way for plastic, reuse glass bottles, cloth bags, planting trees, kitchen garden, sustainable tourism, handmade paper use, reuse of paper etc. if I initiate this from my home, my kid is watching and doing the same.

Please start today! Do your bit, if you want the planet to be as beautiful and gorgeous as it is.

Durga-Maa-Images-Beautiful-Hd.jpg

ShiviOctober 18, 202011min4600

The word Navaratri means ‘nine nights’ in Sanskrit, Nava meaning nine and Ratri meaning nights. It means nine nights of the feminine goddess that are worshipped in our culture since ages.

nine forms of durga

Navratri is a nine-day festival that celebrates the nine forms of goddess Durga. On each day of Navratri, a special colour is worn that is dedicated to a goddess and holds special significance.

The tenth day is celebrated as Vijayadashami or Dussehra when the idols of Goddess Durga are immersed into the water body. This is what we know about Navratri. And this what we have been celebrating since ages. What I wish to convey form this video is my perception and my understanding of these nine days.

I’m a firm believer of Shiv and Shakti. Durga Ma is also a form of Shiv+Shakti.

Navratri – 9 days of Feminine energy, nine days of the feminine divine goddess. Durga, Laxmi and Saraswati are three dimensions of feminine energies. They also represent tamas rajas and sattva these are basic qualities of human existence and its elements.

Navadurga

  • Tamas is the nature of the earth and literally means inertia
  • Rajas mean passion
  • Satva means breaking boundaries melting and merging

Navratri falls twice a year. Sharada Navaratri: the most celebrated of the four Navaratri, named after Sharada which means autumn. It is observed in the lunar month of Ashvin (post-monsoon, September–October). In many regions, the festival falls after the autumn harvest, and in others during harvest.

Vasanta Navaratri: the second most celebrated, named after Vasantha which means spring. It is observed in the lunar month of Chaitra (post-winter, March–April). In many regions, the festival falls after spring harvest, and in others during harvest

Let me tell you the nine forms of Goddess worshipped on all nine days.

Day 1 – Shailaputri

Known as Pratipada, this day is associated with Shailaputri (literally “Daughter of Mountain”), an incarnation of Parvati. Shailaputri is considered to be the direct incarnation of Mahakali. The colour of the day is red, which depicts action and vigour.

Shailaputri

Day 2 – Brahmacharini

Goddess Brahmacharini, another incarnation of Parvati, is worshipped. In this form, Parvati became Sati, her unmarried self. Brahmacharini is worshipped for emancipation or moksha and endowment of peace and prosperity. Depicted as walking bare feet and holding a japamala and kamandal in her hands, she symbolizes bliss and calm. Blue colour depicts tranquillity yet strong energy.

Brahmacharini

Day 3 – Chandraghanta

Tritiya commemorates the worship of Chandraghanta – the name derived from the fact that after marrying Shiva, Parvati adorned her forehead with the ardhachandra (lit. half-moon). She is the embodiment of beauty and is also symbolic of bravery. Yellow is the colour of the third day, which is a vivacious colour and can pep up everyone’s mood.

Chandraghanta

Day 4 – Kushmanda

Goddess Kushmanda is worshipped on Chaturthi. Believed to be the creative power of the universe, Kushmanda associated with the endowment of vegetation on earth and hence, the colour of the day is Green. She is depicted as having eight arms and sits on a Tiger.

Kushmanda

Day 5 – Skandamata

Skandamata, the goddess worshipped on Panchami, is the mother of Skanda (or Kartikeya). The colour of Grey is symbolic of the transforming strength of a mother when her child is confronted with danger. She is depicted riding a ferocious lion, having four arms and holding her baby.

Skandamata

Day 6 – Katyayani

Born to sage Katyayana, she is an incarnation of Durga and is shown to exhibit courage which is symbolized by the colour Orange. Known as the warrior goddess, she is considered one of the most violent forms of Devi. In this avatar, Kātyāyanī rides a lion and has four hands. She is a form of Maha Lakshmi

Katyayani

Day 7 – Kalaratri

Considered the most ferocious form of Goddess Durga, Kalaratri is revered on Saptami. It is believed that Parvati removed her fair skin to kill the demons Sumbha and Nisumbha. The colour of the day is White. On Saptami, the Goddess appears in a white colour attire with lots of rage in her fiery eyes, her skin turns black. The white colour portrays prayer and peace and ensures the devotees that the Goddess will protect them from harm.

Kalaratri

Day 8 – Mahagauri

Mahagauri symbolizes intelligence and peace. The colour associated with this day is Pink which depicts optimism.

Mahagauri

Day 9 – Sidhidatri

On the last day of the festival also known as Navami, people pray to Siddhidhatri. Sitting on a lotus, she is believed to possess and bestows all types of Siddhis. Here she has four hands. Also known as SriLakshmi Devi. The light blue colour of the day portrays an admiration towards nature’s beauty.

We as humans always get attracted to something which is unachievable or looks very difficult. I always keep on wondering how people in Uttrakhand, Himachal Pradesh and Northern Himalayas sustain in extreme conditions especially in winters. This thought always fascinates me and pulls me towards it that I want to experience something like this once in a lifetime. And here I am writing my blog after finishing my winter Spiti in the harsh weather that one can dream of. Travel to Spiti is a different experience all together especially when you have been to Spiti in Summers.

This blog will cover a lot of aspects as to what all one should carry to be safe in such weather, different ways and routes that one can take.

mall road shimla

If you are starting from Shimla

We took a flight from Mumbai to Delhi. You can also take a train as there are a lot of trains available for Delhi. Once we reach Delhi we took a train to Kalka, You can take a direct bus from Delhi to reach Shimla. If you want to give a different feel to your travel experience then don’t miss the Toy Train. Book tickets in advance for toy train from Kalka to Shimla as at the last moment you won’t get any tickets.

kalka toy road (1)

Suggestion – Please book your bus tickets in advance and only take the Govt. buses if you are planning to reach Shimla directly. Please avoid taking private buses to reach Shimla, first of all, private bus operators takes a lot of time and secondly, it’s risky as well.

Shimla to Kalpa (9712 ft)

We started from Shimla early morning around 8 AM since the distance between Shimla and Kalpa is 230 km and it takes approx 7 hrs to reach a destination. If you are taking a couple of stops that the same journey extends to 10-11 hrs considering climate is all favourable. I will suggest people start early if you can and keep some buffer time with you. In midway, we took a couple of stops one for breakfast where we had yummy aloo ka paratha with achar and curd. I don’t know how these locals made food but it really taste distinct, I would say something is there in the air and water which makes simple things wondrous.

My travel buddy and I then took the route via Kufri, Narkanda, Rampur and then finally to Kapla. Enroute you will find snow, on both sides of the roads, sometimes view is so mesmerizing that you want to forget everything and just feel the beauty of these hills. Kalpa is the capital of the Kinnaur region, I am not sure how many of you know this. We reached Kalpa around 8 PM in the night, it was all dark as in hills around 5-5:30 you will see that sunlight starts fading. By 8 you will feel it’s like 12 o clock in any city. From here the whole fight starts or I would say you start feeling the chill of the Spiti Valley. We were lucky to get beds that have heaters in it embedded. Nights are so cold that you can’t even think of taking your hand out of your gloves and don’t ask the layers of clothing that you need to wear. And not to forget in rooms you won’t get water in the toilet since all the pipelines get blocked or frozen due to ICE.

shimla kalpa (1)

We took our dinner and headed to the room since it was a long journey and tiring as well, though the beauty through which we pass through was giving us a glimpse that what all we will be seeing ahead. The night view was also imposing as there was no pollution and an only beautiful sky filled with a bunch of stars, it looks as if someone has started a DJ light.

Kalpa to Tabo (10761 ft)

Post healthy and fresh breakfast and we both started a little late since the distance between Kalpa and Tabo is only 160 km which can be covered easily in 4hrs. We were planning to cover Giu monastery in between which we were unable to as due to some unforeseen circumstances we keep on getting late like there was a landslide in between, then due to on-going road work at a lot of places blasts were begun due to which we need to stop till the road gets cleared. Considering all these its a fun ride as you keep on seeing sometimes half-frozen, sometimes full frozen Spiti river. This view is only in winters and you keep on wondering how come suddenly river started flowing where half a km before it was all frozen. And these mountains keeps on changing colors after every 4-5 km which you can only experience. Tabo is famous for Tabo Monastery. We reach Tabo around 8 PM and had a good sleep. Since next morning our destination was Kaza.

frozen river spiti valley (1)

Tabo to Kaza (12467 ft)

Distance between Tabo to Kaza is hardly 50 km which can be covered easily in 2 hrs. However, we decided to cover Pin valley which is almost frozen and would take your heart away when you pass from those routes where on both the sides you will find huge Ice blocks, sometimes their height is more than 10 ft and when you pass those you get an adrenaline rush. Pin valley is an abode to flora and fauna of Himalayas (National Park) but in winter you can only find one thing and that is snow. We reached Kaza and did a night halt there.

snowy road kaza kalpa (1)

Kaza to Langza-Komic-Hikkim – Chichum Bridge – Kaza

These are some of the famous places nearby Kaza which cannot be missed if you are here. Langza is a village that is famous for Buddhist monasteries and fossils. We were unable to reach Komic due to heavy snow in the region and roads were blocked. Hikkim is famous for its worlds highest post office. You can postcards to your near and dear ones from here.

hikkim post office (1)

Chichum Bridge is Asia’s highest suspension bridge. When we reached there it started snowing and what more you can ask for at such a beautiful place.  In midway, we have seen places where water is flowing from top but in middle, it has frozen, we were wondering how this can happen and we both was awe stuck witnessing that nature’s beauty which itself was surprising.

chichum bridge (1)

After covering all these places which in itself is an experience we came back to our homestay. A lot of memories were captured in photographs, some were captured in heart and some were there in our eyes which was just to stay for a very very long time.  We have our dinner and stayed in our rooms, the temperature was -20 degrees celsius and we were feeling that we all died as it was so cold out but when we saw the mountains and the sky it felt as if how can the world be so beautiful and so calm. Trust me that was the feeling.

Kaza to Kalpa

This is one of the longest journey that we took in the whole trip and in midway since it was 200 km that need to be covered and in hills covering 200 km might take approx 9-10 hr which is just a journey time excluding the halts that you take and how much time you spend on each halt. With each passing hour, we were feeling that why we are going back as the Himalayas and the hills that we spend time were most beautiful. We thought that our journey has come to an end but God and nature have a different plan for us. After we reach Kalpa and checked in to our rooms, around 11ish in the night it started snowing, I have never seen real live snow falling on me. Trust me guys feeling was out of the world. It was like cotton coming on you and that’s it and it goes away. Wow-what a thing to watch out for. Till morning it was continuous snow and we came to know that this fresh snow is in whole region and routes have started closing down due to this.

kaza snow (1)

Kalpa to Shimla

We started for Shimla and expecting to cover the distance in 9 hrs approx but due to snow routes were closed and we were forced to take a longer route and it took us 2 hrs more to reach to Shimla. We all were tired, happy, sad and what not as whatever we have experienced was in itself a journey that neither of us thought about.

The trip came to an end but the memories and the experience that we all got in itself was mind-boggling.

Things to Carry

  1. Rucksack
  2. Jacket for -15 degree celsius
  3. Sports/Trekking Socks
  4. Woolen Socks
  5. Gloves
  6. Fleece
  7. Neck Warmer
  8. Woolen Cap
  9. Thermal Inner Wear
  10. Sun – Screen – SPF 50
  11. Water bottle
  12. Litter bags

Place to Stay

Depending on your budget you get ample places to stay, however, we suggest to do bookings beforehand as in winters it becomes tricky to roam around and look for good options.  You will get a lot of budget hotels and home-stays, luxurious hotels are doubtful in Spiti Valley as it is still a secluded land and for past few years have gradually started becoming a travel spot.

If you like this blog or want to read more such blogs leave comments or you can reach us and let us know your feedback.

Is Work from Home a Good Idea in Long Run?

We all are thrown unprepared into unexpected situations. Covid has brought each of our lives to a standstill or if not stand still then to a point where we cannot predict what will happen in the near future. We all are confined to our homes and whoever can work from home is asked to do the same to support their work, family, economy, etc. Recently I was going through the newspaper and there was an article which was published by TCS saying that 75% of their workforce will be doing work from home in the next 2 years. Is this norm that is coming into reality and what will be the consequences of this. Let us look at this with three different aspects

work-home-Spirited Blogger

Employer Perspective – What is an advantage that a company gets by asking an employee to do work from home (WFH) and similarly are there any downsides to it, let’s see. Employers will be able to save some of the fixed expenses if they ask employees to do WFH. Fixed Expenses like huge rents, electricity bill, maintenance of electronic peripherals like computer, printer, edible items like tea/coffee, transport facilities, etc can be curtailed easily which will help an employer to increase its margins easily. Downside of it will be an employee might miss important meetings and there won’t be any fixed time for an employee to work which might in long run make them frustrated since you will always be working from home and working.

work-from-home-Spirited Blogger

Employee Perspective – From an employee perspective this can be a nice move is what each one of us thinks, though I don’t agree totally. Employees who stay far and especially in metros where commute eats up half of your time, this move is good as you can save approx. 3-4 hrs daily. The downside of this is since you are at home you will not be interacting much with the team which results in losing the touch between two employees which is not the case up till now. Also, when you are sitting and talking to someone face to face you tend to learn from another person which won’t be the case going forward. Health issues will be seen more often as there will be hardly anybody movement also most of us do not have a good setup to work from home the way we have in the office.

Economy Perspective – This perspective no one has thought about and hardly talked about as well. What will be effective in our economy in our environment if most of the people start working from home? The advantage will be since most of the people will be at home there will be less pollution, fewer vehicles on the road, easy access to transport. The downside of this will be fuel consumption will go down, companies which run cabs for employees will be affected as they won’t be needed, similarly, catering won’t be needed to that extent so hotels will be affected which will result in job cuts for cab drivers, hotel workers, etc. Overall, you will see it will create a negative impact on our economy

It is difficult to say that if we go ahead and see this norm in the future will it affect each one of us in a positive or negative manner. It totally depends on each one of us, how we take it? I leave it to you guys to decide and see the pros and cons of it.

kids-during-covid-19-lockdown.jpg

ShiviApril 20, 20208min8760

The circumstances which we are facing are unexpected, which neither of us has dreamt off. A few months back we were thinking about what are our plans for 2020, what we will do and what not? And suddenly something like this comes up and we, totally unprepared, are thrown into it. And it’s not only we but also kids are stuck in these situations. Below are some of the things and activities that I’m suggesting to keep kids engaged during the lockdown.

kids during lockdown

Make Timetable – We should ask kids to make a time table for themselves. And when they are making the time table we have to emphasize that they have to keep some time for learning new things daily, be it anything but it should be of their interest. And ask them to keep everything in the time table even the smallest of things like eating food etc.

Involve them in House Chores – Make sure that you involve kids in one of the house chore activity. In this way, they will be able to understand how mom-dad does these activities and also will understand the importance of small things. Also, you need to appreciate them when they are doing it so that they will feel proud of it and in the future, they give importance to each and every work without thinking or looking at any work as downgraded.

Make Reading and Writing a Habit– Force your kids to read and write daily for even a few minutes. Once this habit is inculcated in them they will automatically understand the importance of learning. In this way, they are developing very important habit which will help them in the long run.

Play with them – As a parent, it has become very tough for each of us to give time to our kids. I know everyone must be thinking that it should be easy but all those who have started working from home and can easily relate to this where, when you go to the office you can spare more time which has started becoming more and more difficult due to work pressures, especially being at a home lot more work is expected then what it used to be. Having said all this, I would still suggest please take some time out and just be with them. Do what they want to do without asking questions, become like them. This might give a break to you which you also need and they will be happy too.

engage kids during lockdown

Create a To-Do list – Ask your kid to make a to-do list and tell them that be creative as much as you can. Once they create a list stick it in their room and ask them out of these what all you can do being at home. Help them in doing whatever is possible at home and when they are doing all these please don’t scold or shout at them when they are making house dirty as even they are facing same as you are and somehow trying to cope with this, though they are small to understand a lot of what is happening and why?

love kids during lockdown

Reading Newspaper – If you are getting e-paper to ask them to read the newspaper daily. This will help them in understanding what is going around the world and ask them to keep a dictionary with them so whenever they are stuck they can check the meaning of it. In this way, their vocabulary will also improve.

Look for Broken Things in Home – Ask them to check which all things are broken in the house be it their toy or anything. Then ask them if you need to repair it, how will you go about it. Tell them to try repairing these things. If some of the things are repaired then your task is done, if not then also at-least they tried to do something which was constructive and you should be happy about it.

engage kids with activities

These are some of the things that I think can be done which not only will keep kids busy but also elated and engaged. People are hardly talking about these times when it is taking a toll on mental health as well on an individual. And this can happen with kids as well so we have to be double careful since if it is easy to take care of stuff when it is physical then mentally. I know these are tough times for all of us including our kids but trust me these times will pass and then we will think that why we have not utilised it to the fullest.

corona-virus-2020-1024x768.jpg

ShiviApril 14, 202011min7021

We all know that due to COVID19 pandemic spreading across the world, almost all the countries have suggested to keep social distancing and implemented a lockdown as well. India is one of those which has implemented lockdown to curb the spread of this virus. I am no one to say this is right or wrong? I am just going to keep some basic pointers as per my resources and as per my knowledge and then let the audience decide if this is right or wrong and is it implemented correctly?

Disclaimer: I’m being unbiased and true to myself without any intention to hurt any community or political reforms.

When the whole world has started noticing the impact of COVID19 in January we were sitting and waiting till march second week for action. All International travels were as usual and no testing was going on. In fact after lockdown also I didn’t hear a single Bollywood Celebrity name being tested though we all know most of the Bollywood stars keeps on travelling abroad and they must have been for sure.

mumbai lockdown

Govt immediately announced that from 12 o clock in the night there will be a lockdown. Did they even give a thought about those daily workers, be it rickshaw-wall, chai wall, sabzi wala who live in cities like Mumbai, Delhi to earn their livings? How and from there they will get money to survive for 21 days. People started walking in haste for 200-300kms and the result we heard that some of them died, how many like that lost their lives, none of us knows.

Essentials will be available is what the Government announced. I don’t know to be honest since these bureaucrats get everything easily on their plate they don’t understand the pain which a middle and lower middle class goes through. Hardly anything is available on the name of essentials, even if you are getting it but not sufficient. The Government was saying that don’t hoard anything I was one of them who didn’t keep anything extra and now I am thinking that people did it right because our Government just knows to give orders but when it comes to implementation they are really bad we have seen this at the time of demonetisation also. If you are trying to use some app for home delivery their slots are all full. God only knows where these essentials are available.

Everyone is praising about police personnel that they are doing a great job. They are out of their houses. Can someone tell me do they have a choice, it’s their work, I would say, Sorry people may find me a stupid human, but that’s what I think, as even I’m the one who is facing. No one is talking about the trouble and the hitting and the bribe that these people are taking these days. Understood that they are frustrated, but don’t you think people who are at home are similarly frustrated as well. Someone might be facing some medical problem or someone doesn’t have enough money, or food is not there to feed their family, or person is alone and doesn’t have a vehicle to go 3-4kms to bring stuff. The list is huge and I can keep on going as on-ground this is what is happening. As expected that people need to be at home and considerate about these people don’t you think the same thing applied to policemen as well. They are taking bribes from local sabziwala and what he is doing, increasing prices of fruits and vegetables which need to be paid by a common man. (I really can’t name them or show pictures as they are scared even to share with me, thinking that if I put something the police will come and thrash them).

lockdown India

Alcohol shops, why they can’t start? You might be thinking I love drinking. Let me tell you I hardly drink. But think about those people who need it and they are still getting it at a premium rate and whose earnings are in between middle-men bracket. Had they would have opened the shops may-be for 2-3hrs, imagine the amount of revenue the Government would get in these times. This extra revenue would be helpful in recurring funds for the daily wagers and etc.

Govt. has announced a package for the workers, I appreciate that at least they are thinking, though I have my doubts as to how much will reach to the needy. That’s a separate point of discussion. What about an auto-driver, or an ola driver or an uber driver, or a person who cooks something daily idli, poha and sell on-road or a free-lancer who works by providing his/her skills be it digital/marketing, etc. What about them? They don’t come in any sector and that is the biggest sector, how and from where they will feed themselves and their family? God knows!!!

Sex Workers/Bartenders/waiters and lots of such people no one is talking about them. Are they not humans? Whatever someone does that is his/her choice, we are no one to debate about them. Don’t they need money to survive i.e. pay their rent bills, for monthly essentials from where they will get money to survive?

lockdown india daily wages

Truck Associations/Drivers – Approx. 35k trucks are stranded on road be it different check nakas or toll posts. As driver and cleaner were forced to leave them due to sudden lockdown. Approx 35crore worth (or much more I don’t have exact numbers) of goods are out there in open available for loot by local goons. Those drivers were forced to leave trucks as it is as govt has not communicated the plan to local bodies who ultimately implement them. Despite essentials being allowed still a lot of trucks were not allowed to pass through by local authorities. (the points mentioned are based on the media reports from authentic sources).

I can keep on writing about people’s agony which every one of us is facing. Government is not only made to pass the order but also to make sure that they check at ground level if things are implemented in the fashion that they want. I can understand that in a country like India it is easy to say than do, however, I still feel that this can be implemented in a much better way than what it is right now.

I am afraid to say that we are least affected from COVID19 but will be most affected sooner not because people will die due to COVID but they will die due to administration has not taken things in hands at the right time making sure that normal life is not disrupted and all essential commodities and services were available. I heard someone saying we will die either due to COVID or due to hunger which one shall we choose?

Long-Distance.jpg

ShiviApril 11, 20208min10844

Long-distance relationships in difficult times like these are what each of us is facing, is hard to sustain. These are such times when we are hearing a lot of things as to how to not get affected by what is going around. Most heard word these days is COVID and Be Positive. Trust me the most negative word these days is “Be Positive”. I am not going to say anything like that. Below are some of the things that can be done to keep the spark alive in your relationship.

1. Video calls – This is the best way in these times to get connected. Fix up a time and get on the call with each other. Talk about old things which bring a smile on both of your faces. May be while being on video call one person can make food and another person can suggest what all things to be put in it. Be experimental and try different things which you guys have never thought can try. This is your time guys.

Long distance relationship

2. Intimate Chats – This is one of the most important things which should not be missed. You should do sex or intimate chats and talk openly when we did last time what you like and what you don’t. Next time we will be doing it this way or these are the things that we should try out. Be open and try to take it to the next level when you are talking to each other by seducing the other person and whatever best you guys can do. But do talk about these things as well since this is very important in a relationship and especially in long-distance one.

intimate chats

3. Plan for Future when you meet what will you do – This something that you both can do i.e. to talk about what all things we will do when we met. May plan a future date or plan a vacation together. If date then what all things each of you would like to have. And if planning a vacation then make a bucket list and which all places you want to visit together and what all things to be done. You can get your homework done for multiple places and then when this lockdown is over you will be ready with everything and without wasting any time you can go on vacation. Sound Interesting huh!!!

4. Talk about things which are missed most – You both can create a list of things that you guys miss, it may be shopping together or going on a stroll with each other hand. Then share this list and see how many things come in common, in this way you both will come to know about each other more and can improve your relationship in the long run.

relationship hacks

5. Clarify differences – This is the best time to clarify your differences if due to some reason you guys fought with each other then get it clarified. Put your point and another person should listen to it calmly and quietly without reacting and then let other people speak in this way both will come to know that what and why that particular thing happened. If neither of you agrees with another person then come to a common point and take it a vow that we will try to avoid such things which can create differences and lead to fights.

talk about differences

6. Talk about things which you always want to say to each other – There were always times when you want to say something to your partner but was unable to, maybe due to time constraint or due to hitch. I would suggest open your heart and speak it out. It is always good to be open in relationships as that will improve trust on each other and couples can sustain uncertainty easily

7. Laugh Out Loud thinking and teasing each other that we are not together 24 hrs – This is just for fun but yes some people are stuck with each and don’t want to. Even if you guys don’t fall in that category still you can tease each other and make fun by saying this. Whether we say it or not but it is true that we all need our space and when we don’t get that space relationship started getting heavy or become a load.

Saptharishi Suresh is a published author and an art enthusiast. He wrote his first story at the age of ten and done many paintings during his childhood. Later, as an adult, he reproduced the same online at Saptharishi – Thinketh Undefined.

Though his interests were in arts and literature, he couldn’t pursue it as a profession, thanks to the lack of guidance and peer pressure. He decided to pursue engineering and became a software engineer in the year 2005.  After a couple of years into the profession, he realized the need to revive his childhood interests as something in him was feeling lonely. He set up a blogging website called Saptharishi – Thinketh Undefined in 2008 and started writing on a wide variety of topics like short stories, painting, spiritual, tourism, and even technology. With the website getting popular, he decided to take the plunge of publishing his first novel “The Wake-up Call” in the year 2010.

Getting his first book published was not easy at all and he learned a lot about the challenges involved in the process.  Being a software engineer he thought of leveraging his software skills to aid in the publishing process. He wanted to make life easy for other authors. Hence he set up the platform called “Magic Author” (https://www.magicauthor.com) in the year 2012. Since then he has helped authors and creative artists build their reputation online. He spends most of his time exploring how authors can leverage the internet benefiting both themselves and the communities around them.

Is Leh-Ladakh only for bikers? Most of us have this question in mind whenever we think of travelling to this terrain. Can Laid Back travellers or those people who are not fond of biking can travel to Leh-Ladakh? Just to answer these quick and genuine questions, here is the Tour Itinerary For Leh-Ladakh. In this blog, I am going to talk about that and also going to cover what all places can be covered in short period since travellers usually want to cover a lot of places in a short period, who are on a leisure trip.

hunder camps

4 Nights 5 Days Trip To Leh-Ladakh

I know most of the people think that cramming a lot of places in a short period is not ideal. It can be the most tiring travel as well. I agree with most of you all and even I have experienced this during my travel journeys when I have a time crunch. Nevermind this Tour Itinerary For Leh-Ladakh will help you to plan an adventurous yet appealing trip to this beautiful destination in India, Leh-Ladakh.

hunder sand dunes

Day 1 of Tour Itinerary For Leh-Ladakh – Take a direct flight from Mumbai or Delhi to Leh. In this way, you can save a minimum of two days since taking a bus from Delhi to Manali and then Manali to Leh takes 2 days. Once you reach Leh take full day rest, sleep as much as you can and drink a lot of water since water will keep you hydrated and rest will help you in getting acclimatized. In the evening you can visit the local market and the Hall of Fame. There’s a light & sound show that happens in Hall of Fame which is must watch. It will give you a feeling of how our soldiers fight in one of the most difficult situations which are out of our imagination.

Pangong lake route from leh

Day 2 – Leh to Pangong Tso Lake

You can hire a cab from Leh for which rates may vary from cab to cab. You can even opt for Self drive car, though I won’t suggest that as routes are not that easy for someone to drive in these terrains. While going to Pangong Tso Lake you can cover Hemis, Thicksey and Shey monasteries en route.

pangong lake

Its 5-6 hour journey which is tiresome but once you reach the lake, the beauty of that place mesmerises you and you feel cherished. You can stay over in the camps which ranges from 1500-2000 inclusive of meals per person depending on the season when you are going. Stay overnight in Pangong and then head back to Leh. Stay Overnight at Leh.

Diskit leh

Day 3 – Leh – Khardung La – Diskit – Hunder

Start early and feed your stomach with a little food since you will be passing from the highest motorable road in the world – Khardung La, you might feel dizzy. Keep yourself hydrated and keep on having candies as oxygen can be an issue here. If you feel a headache or breathing problem there are army camps and Dr is available to help you out. Have some tea/coffee and get yourself clicked at the world’s highest motorable road.

khardungla leh

Once you pass Khardung La you can see monasteries in Dikshit. These monasteries are very very old monasteries and worth watching. After spending some time here you can continue your journey towards Hunder which are dunes. In Hunder you can find camels of 2 humps which is only available in Dubai. You will be surprised and keep on wondering where this white sand has come to such a place. Stay over in Hunder as you can find a lot of beautiful camps and price is negotiable.

double hump camels hunder

Day 4 – Hunder – Sumur – Panamik – Leh

After having breakfast you can go to Sumur which has a famous monastery. From Sumur you can head towards Panamik which is famous for hot springs. Start your journey from Panamik to Leh. By evening you will be back in Leh. Do some local shopping in Leh as Leh is famous for dry fruits and some other local hand made stuff. This ends your journey here, but Day 5 can be a buffer for local Leh market, amazing food to relish, roam and shop in Tibetian refugee market. There’s a lot to do in Leh and around as well. Thus Day 5 can be utilised like this way. If not you can take a return flight the same day.

Leh local market

Head back to your destination the next day with beautiful memories.

Final wrap on Tour Itinerary For Leh-Ladakh

Though Leh-Ladakh is considered as Mecca for bikers and you will find a lot of bikers en-route, but this place is also something which can be visited by those who don’t love bike riding. This very simple itinerary can help you in planning and executing your vacation plan and you can enjoy it to the core keeping small things in mind.

Happy Travelling!

War Movie Review – Tale Of Two Greek Gods

Cast:  Hrithik Roshan, Tiger Shroff

Vaani Kapoor, Soni Razdan and Anupriya Goenka

Director: Siddharth Anand

Critic Review

War has features and traits of a few resembling music numbers and movies, which Bollywood has been doing it for years. Where we could see “Top Gun”-levels of homoeroticism, designed or otherwise; way too much who-is-the-mole scheme; a needless romantic sub-plot that drove tales around glittery and random Christmas scenes. This involves heroine, a cute widdle kid and glamour round the corner. What all we see in this war movie review, that, it the entertainment of the two Greek gods of Bollywood industry. You can be happy witnessing a long and rushing bike rides between the two. The computer graphics, body double and the chase of these two duelling stars are like a spin around the plot. Of course, it is Aditya Chopra, (Adi I’m not criticising you, but it is truly like Dhoom 4 or an Abbas Mustan film). To the plot, you will see a thundering show of one of the world’s best sports cars racing and twirling all over the snow of Artic.

To your surprise, it is a frozen river by the way. The twists and turns test your patience but lack in the storyline. Overall, just a stardom movie to watch, for the love Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan. Certainly not a 3 star for me – the war movie review rating will be 2.5.

war movie review

Music

On the contrary, the music of Vishal Dadlani is killing in the two musical numbers, which are also dancing numbers. The songs will be ruling the charts in the coming months as well. Ghungroo stands out in contrast to Jai Jai Shiv Shankar. That’s just about 50 per cent for Vishal Dadlani. Tiger Shroff and Hrithik Roshan make the excellent pair and audience are liking their chemistry. To my knowledge audience were wishing to see both of them paired since long. Their paring is almost like Batman and Robin, like, where Shroff’s diligence and respect is a good foil to Roshan’s more perceptive ways.

Certainly a crowd puller, but not a box office hit for Aditya Chopra. War, got released on October 2nd, with all the reviews and critics it started-off fantastic on the box office and has gathered massive collection on Day 1.

love-and-weed-e1570092564949.jpg

ShiviOctober 3, 20196min7392

Before you begin I would like to quote, that Love is immortal and there is something very special about love and relationships. This blog is not about any specific love or relationships tips and tricks but it will certainly give an insight into the eternal feeling of love and its essence. Keep reading Is love like weed or vice-versa…

As the title suggests is Love like weed or is Weed Like Love or Vice-versa. I would like to mention few points wherein we can relate our love feelings with weed (PS: this does not impose anyone to consume weed or any other kind of a drug, this is just a writer’s poetic compilation)

love an emotion

Holistic love

– Love is deep and connects every emotion of our lives. If I try to connect with weed here, many of us would agree that love has its forms of weed. What weed does is what love is. The approach is to understand that humans who consider love to equal to weed are not ruled always. Delving into literal terms will not make any sense here. The secret lies in acknowledging and holistically expressing love.

Immortal love

– with every stash of weed or a joint, we tend to get stoned into some other world only. Why this happens, it is because of the essence of the substance which makes you feel this way. Now, when we say love is immortal we consider this notion to be out of the world. When someone is in love the feeling is strong and overwhelming. We, tend to forget that it will not last forever and may end someday like a joint’s smoke. Considering this phenomenon acknowledging love for one-self gets lost and we tend to drag our lives into vain and no-where. Instead, try being you, and real, get in love with yourself so that eventually you get the path of immortal love.

The comparison and verdict of is love like weed

The idea of depicting just the two above is not the end of the explanation. Rather, numerous people take the wrong path in the name of weed, calling it love. The message what I wanted to portray is, not to consume weed, rather just be mindful of your relationships. Pay some respect to the person you love, be faithful to you first, then you can be loyal to others. Weed may get you to the wrong path, let love not do this to you. Be compassionate and kind. In my opinion, love can’t be like weed always as the strong point of weed are directly proportional to the bad points of love.

About us

There is a piece in me that like to tenderly imagine my maverick and seditious soul. But, precisely, I love to have a picky and cosy relationship with my soul that can rub up against a little bit, putting me alive.
