Overall a trip to the theatres is worth.

lion king review spirited blogger

The new correspondence is a faithful tribute to 1994 original, though a few outmoded analogies could well have been re-interpreted.

I have been grown watching Lion king and I could certainly relate this trigger to watch the transformation of Lion King with super-duper star-cast. This family-favourite movie came to life with sufficient awe-struck animation and visual achievements. Though it is being an uninspired shot-by-shot, a track-by-track remake of the original, it did not make full use of its supremely talented cast.

Be it established animation or synchronous photorealistic digital/computer animation, what has really worked for The Lion King is a sprinkling of animals. I am purposely not using the word humanising here because, as we are well conscious, it’s the animals who are at most times more cultured than the brutes that the sapiens has become.

Review inline:

There are consequences when you will be surprised if you’re watching a wildlife documentary in real, albeit with one big distinction. It’s all scripted with a story you’re familiar with, particularly if you’ve watched the 1994 version of Lion King. The cast performed well and was realistic in their approach to portray the animals’ characters. This version has great voice-overs in Hindi and in English that leave no room to emote besides the voice work.

The story we all know:

The Lion King is the king of the jungle and the story is about a lion cub’s journey to adulthood and its acceptance of his royal destiny. Simba – the cub starts his life as an honoured prince, who is the son of the powerful King Mufasa. Later in the story, the cub’s joyful childhood turns disastrous when his evil uncle Scar murders Mufasa and forces Simba away from the kingdom. In refugee, the young lion befriends the comically butterfingered pair of Pumbaa the warthog and Timon the meerkat and starts living a carefree jungle life. As he reaches adulthood, nevertheless, he is visited by the spirit of his father, who directs him to destroy the wicked Scar and restore his rightful throne. And all this came into life when Nala – his childhood friend pursues him to be back to the kingdom.

The focus points out that we can take from the story:

In The Lion King, there is a mixture of leadership styles (Real Leaders) and leadership injuries (Positional Leaders) that are represented through the characters.

Simba is the classic example of “psychodynamic procedure to leadership”, Mufassa is the description of “social exchange theory” and Scar blends him “the bad powers”.

There seems to be a focus on Simba’s feelings of guilt that may him deny himself, his family, best friends and his royal’s fate. Discovering that Scar murdered his father, he puts himself in resolution and unites all the characteristics of fundamental leadership notions (bases of power and master skills, characteristics, and behaviours) to become the Lion King and makes it an actuality

kabir singh movie

Kabir Singh is a remake of a Telugu movie Arjun Reddy (2017), in which there was a guy who is short-tempered and by profession, he is a surgeon. He tends to get used to drugs and drinks when his girlfriend was forced to marry another guy. Considering this inspiration Kabir Singh justifies this remake and Shahid does the full-throttle acting to make this cinema an epic for years to come in Bollywood.

kabir singh movie

Many critic movie reviewers are saying that this is one the best movie of the decade and a masterpiece of Shahid’s best performance so far. To mention here, this movie is distinct from other romantic or love movie, although it is a remake of south movie Arjun reddy you will savour Kabir Singh most.

Acting

The acting of Shahid Kapoor is incredible, it feels natural lover who ruining his life when he is melancholy due to the marriage of his girlfriend Priti. He is a Drug addict, alcoholic, and beat anyone, he is who cannot handle his anger at anyplace. The movie tells us the conflict of his life, but the end all get well, he gets his girlfriend back and marries her. So if movies end well then all is well as we all want it to happen. The best part about the movie is the dedication of Kabir towards his career which he took very seriously.

kabir singh movie

Message

I think for the youngsters this can be a strong message that comes with prominently from the movie. On one hand, we see hell ya, drugs, alcohol etc. but on the other hand, you would see a person who is passionate about his love and his career to the core. wonderful acting and screenplay and of course acting.

Music

Music of Kabir Singh – is my special mention, it is an album for a decade – trust me guys you would goosebumps and would relate every word. the movie has 9 songs in total – where 7 original and you will have 2 repeat versions. the music of Kabir Singh is composed by Sachet-Parampara, Vishal Mishra, Mithoon, Akhil Sachdeva and Amaal Malik. The lyrics are written by Irshad Kamil, Manoj Muntashir, Mithoon and Kumaar. And the songs are sung by Sachet Tandon, Vishal Mishra, Arijit Singh, Parampara Thakur, Akhil Sachdeva, Tulsi Kumar, Shreya Ghoshal, Armaan Malik and Jubin Nautiyal.

kabir singh music review

It is being weeks now for the movie to get released, still, the songs are on the top charts. these songs are to add to the playlist the moment you listen to them. What cherished most about this track aside its lyrics is how it retains shifting gears from just another passionate number to a rock song. The use of electric guitar accomplishes well.

Arjun Reddy shows us feebleness, and that’s the only way he keeps us with him; Kabir Singh is all embellishment, mostly cover. You see him going over the actions and would wave away with emotions. And that, right there, is the dilemma: but a worth watch.

For all those who have loved and admired Ishq Subhan Allah earlier will be certainly considering Ishq Aaj Kal in their watchlist. The web series is a ZEE5 original which is a reboot of romantic thriller TV show Ishq Subhan Allah. This show was a wonderful romantic thriller revolving around two lovely people Kabeer (Adnan Khan) and Zara (Eisha Singh) who were ardent believers of Islam but have the opposite understanding and perspective about it. How they cross paths with each other formed the crux of the TV show. Hence, it will be interesting to see what Ishq Aaj Kal has in store for us.

Going by the teaser, Ishq Aaj Kal seems like a fantastic spin-off of Ishq Subhan Allah, with another mystery to unveil. Like the way Kabeer and Zara did full justice to the characters in Ishq Subhan Allah, Ishq Aaj Kal also has a strong cast featuring Ankitta Sharma and Angad Hasija in the lead roles. The thrilling plot is expected to be as powerful as Ishq Subhan Allah – according to producer Dheeraj Kumar (a veteran in the film industry).

The plot and story

In the teaser, you will see the tinge of mystery where young Alia is with her father – shown in flashback, which is followed by his arrest in the charge of murdering her mother. In the series, Alia (Ankitta) is seen working as a waitress in a hotel where she got introduced to Paras’s character. What follows is a lot of suspense and intrigue.

The entire story revolves around Alia Jaffri, who is on the journey of finding the truth and solve the mystery of her past- about why her beloved father killed her mother. The dark past is something that appears to rear its head up and ruin her present, affecting all her relations- both personal and professional.

The cast

Apart from Ankitta Sharma and Angad Hasija,  Bigg Boss 12 fame Roshmi Banik will also be a part of the series and has a strong parallel lead role as Ankita’s best friend. The show also stars Kavita Ghai, Shagun Jaswal and Kunal Nirola in important roles. It is also exciting to Kabeer (Adnan Khan) and Zara (Eisha Singh) present in the teaser. This makes one think, will they be a major part of the series or not? The answer to the question will only be known once the series comes online.

Bharat box office collection Day 3: This Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif starrer has earned Rs 95.50 crore in three days. The Ali Abbas Zafar directorial earned Rs 22.20 crore on Friday.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh posted the film’s figures on his Twitter handle. He tweeted, “#Bharat maintains a grip on Day 3 [Fri]… Mass circuits remain strong, while some circuits faced normal decline after #Eid festivities… Should witness an upturn on Day 4 [Sat] and 5 [Sun]… Wed 42.30 cr, Thu 31 cr, Fri 22.20 cr. Total: ₹ 95.50 cr. India biz.”

Now all these are just figures and these figures say it all. It is a family entertainer, yet another Salman Khan movie which has grabbed all the attention for all the reasons. This Ali Abbas Zafar directorial is well written and has a stronghold on the story. Well initiated story but missed on many sections to hold attention but doesn’t capitulate to the trappings of commercial potboilers. Basically, the issue with the screenplay and direction was the story’s strong connection with Bharat’s dream and his India’s affection.

Story: Now when you have too many aspects to show there is always a miss. The fact is that it reis too hard to grab the audience’s attention but didn’t proved to be a massive hit. It was overall an entertaining movie for the family to watch – a typical Salman Khan movie but has a draining odyssey. The movie was though being an adaptation of South Korean drama Ode to my Father (2014). It emphases on the personal and professional choices of its virtuous hero, and in Bollywood, it was set against the social backdrop of its time and the times which India as a country has seen since independence.

Image result for bharat review

There were too many things happening at one time which made it across a loop of characters and scenes. While he accomplishes to keep you hooked notwithstanding his complex source material and misplaced songs makes it a complex movie. Eventually, this makes the movie an arduous, dispersed watch it despite the entertainment, humour and nobility it proliferates.

The cast: Salman Khan the hero itself has a mark for his audience as always. We all know that even if the movie does did not have much of the smash hit content – it gives a box office hit because of the stardom and love Salman Khan gets. And there is nothing wrong in it as he is fantabulous. Interestingly Salman’s love for his family and the sober family person in real life is somehow being always showcased at the epitome in his lives. Which in this movie too has come out interestingly well?

Katrina Kaif: she is stunning and gorgeous. And the character of feisty kumud who is valiant and authentic enough to make the first move on him. “I love you. Shaadi ki umra ho gayi hai meri. Tumse shaadi karna chahti hoon,” she says without winking an eye. She proposes marriage without fearing rejection. “I do and say what I think is right,” she adds and doesn’t mind teasing Salman, “Tum thodey self-obsessed Nahi ho?” Bharat is Katrina’s best-acting part to date. Her harmony with Salman feels accepted and she does a good job at depicting a woman who is self-assured without being swaggering. Her hair is a different story though with the grey streaks are erratic as her character ages and the boisterous curls feel pointless.

Sunil Grover: He actually is the best fit in Ali’s writing is how he places Sunil Grover’s character as Vilayati is commendable and a sigh to see him performing as Bharat’s best friend and amigo. The best friends are the soulmates connections is quite evident in the movie and reflects beautifully. Grover does contend justice to his well-written role and justifies more such noteworthy parts. Sonali Kulkarni and Jackie Shroff are terrific as always, including the other cast – Tabu and the kids of course.

Bharat movie cast: Salman Khan, Katrina Kaif, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff, Sonali Kulkarni, Disha Patani, Satish Kaushik

Bharat movie director: Ali Abbas Zafar

Bharat movie rating: 3 stars out of 5 (majorly for the story)

Do you know: Avengers: Endgame” is the third-most-expensive film ever made

Avengers-Endgame-MCU-Rewatch review

Drifting in space with no food or water, Tony Stark tend to send a message to Pepper Potts as his oxygen source starts to shrink. In the interim, the remaining Avengers — Thor, Black Widow, Captain America and Bruce Banner – requisitely have to figure out a way to bring back their bested partners for an epic showdown with Thanos — the evil demigod who destroyed the planet and the universe.

This is Avengers: Endgame

– it’s being a good time now for this movie as it is already released, but today for me it’s time to write the review. De read it fully. Just to start with my review I would say that please do not except a typical happy ending for this movie as there isn’t any. And two of our favourite Avengers would be dead in the movie. Now, this is not a spoiler and I’m sure most of them must have watched this movie by now.

Background: After the must-see confrontation that was ‘Infinity War,’ the Russo brothers bring a more fan-facing three-hour follow-up, gratifying allegiance to Marvel Cinematic Universe.

For those who haven’t seen it yet, there’s a spoiler alert Avengers: EndGame

It is the culmination of a 10-year-old and more than many years for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Viewers have had a year to grieve about the loss of Spider-Man, Star-Lord, and Black Panther (whom they’d only just met two months earlier in the movies and comics), and to cultivate theories as to where directing siblings Anthony and Joe Russo might bullock things from here. Maybe all those characters weren’t really dead. Maybe the lasting Avengers just needed to travel inside the Soul Stone to get them back. Or maybe “Avengers: Endgame” would have to possibly be that most desperate of chronicle cheats — time travel — to undo the impairment caused by Thanos (the purple-skinned, multi-chinned baddie so fascinatingly performed by Josh Brolin).

avengers end game movie review

The surprise for the audiences

The component of surprise and the excitement of discovery are everything in these movies, so every effort has been made to curtail spoilers. Yes, “Avengers: Endgame” is the most sprawling film yet, and yes, it endeavours to provide emotional liberation for several of fans’ favourite characters. It’s even nontoxic to say that “Endgame” shifts the focus from prodigal, effects-driven displays of universe-saving — diverse though they remain — to the more human cost of gallantry, which comes at a great individual sacrifice.

The start to the Endgame

The opening scene of “Endgame” go back to that intolerable moment from the point of view of Clint Barton, aka Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), who take a seat out the previous fight to spend time with his wife and kids, such that the anguish he feels in watching them evaporated in the Spur-of-the-moment that will come to stand for what all living things must practice as the bystander are their friends and family who disappear.

And then nearly after two and a half hours of hardcore comic-book acting — blinking solemn storytelling with self-deprecatory zingers designed to show that Marvel doesn’t take itself too utterly — “Endgame” cloaks all that logic-bending babble with a series of authoritative emotional scenes. Whereas all the fatalities suffered at the end of “Infinity War” felt shadily like a stunt that would be undone in this film, these substantial character moments exemplify the spirit of peculiar ransom that certain personalities consciously make on behalf of the team and the universe as outsized.

avengers end game review

Time and again, “Endgame” clearly puts the point that family is all that matters, whether it is with biological ties or means — like Iron Man, Hawkeye, Ant-Man, and Thor have experienced — or those bogus by duty. The final carryout from this decade-long voyage is that heroism isn’t well-defined by courage or super-abilities, but by what one gives up for the superior good. Among the many hindrances of the Snap was that it raided so many great charismas — and gazillions of unidentified creatures throughout the galaxy — of proactively building that choice. “Endgame” isn’t precisely a do-over, but it shapes to an extremely more substantial conclusion.

Bollywood is always known for thrillers, and movies infused with mysteries and suspense have its own audience in Bollywood industry. Reasons for this are many, they keep you stick to your chair; they thrill you every second for guessing what is coming next, etc. With its own set of audience, thriller movies have created their own niche in Bollywood. On the contrary, there are some underrated movies that seem to be intriguing yet not hyped much. For example, Nirdosh a suspense thriller of ZEE5 that casts Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Fadnnis is one of the best thrillers of 2018. However, it did not grab the kind of attention it deserved from the audience. You would probably know quite a few of them and must have watched as well, but here’s a rundown of a few, Check the list below:

Nirdosh

Let’s kick things off with the movie that I blew me away recently. Nirdosh dropped in the theatre in 2018. This suspense thriller cast Arbaaz Khan, Manjari Phadnis in the lead roles. The story revolves around a family of three that came to a toppling affair when a paying guest Mahek Chahal comes to stay with them. The movie is directed by Pradeep Rangwani and Subroto Paul. They have tried to make the story engaging through a brutish investigating Inspector Lokhande who arrests Manjari Fadnnis as a prime suspect. Later in the story, we realise that everyone seems to be a suspect in this murder mystery thriller. Arbaaz Khan looks handsome as always, and Ashmit Patel too had an appealing look in the movie. The other cast too did a fair amount of justice to their role. You can Watch Nirdosh Online anytime you want.

Nirdosh Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

8X10 Tasveer

Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor – 8X10 Tasveer is a Hindi psychological thriller starring Akshay Kumar, Ayesha Takia, Sharmila Tagore, and Javed Jaffrey. Right from the bat, one can see that the movie travels along with the character Jai, who is a forest ranger in Canada with a unique trait of seeing things in past just by starring at the photographs. He developed this mysterious talent when he died in an accident under mysterious circumstances. Further, he starts looking for his father’s murderers with the help of his psychic powers. The cast of the movie leads movies were able to keep me hooked to my chair. Akshay Kumar – the star himself has done wonderfully well. Ayesha Takia plays a good role but, to be very honest, it was not that impactful, whereas Javed has justified the character’s needs. Overall this thriller is a must watch for all thriller lovers.

8X10 Tasveer Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Shagird

The 2011 thriller is directed by none other than Tigmanshu Dhulia and stars Nana Patekar as Hanumant Singh, Mohit Ahlawat as Mohit Kumar and Rimi Sen as Varsha Mathur in the lead roles. With such a food casting crew, Tigmanshu Dhulia cooked up a great cop thriller. In Shagird, a rookie cop questions the tactics of his bosses and tries to track the kidnappers of his girlfriend. Unlike the others mentioned in the list, Shagird has jiffies of authority and an uneven, clammy texture that thuds particularly when the camera twists through the bylanes of Old Delhi. It is a crime action thriller which starts with Bunty Bhaiya, who is the gangster and has been arrested in Ghaziabad. What follows forms the entire story of the movie. In a nutshell, it is one cop thriller that no Nana Patekar fan can afford to miss.

Shagrid Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Phobia

Phobia – I must say that it is a must watch movie for a Radhika Apte fan. She is a phenomenal actress and has done all the justice to her role in this psychological thriller which got released in 2016. The movie is directed by Pavan Kirpalani and produced by Viki Rajani. Phobia revolves around the life of Mehak Deo (Radhika Apte) who suffers from agoraphobia. She is not able to respond and interact with people who are unknown to her and thus, remains aloof in her apartment. To make matters worse turns out that the apartment that she holds herself in has a traumatised history of a tenant who inexplicably vanished. The plot is interesting, and the background score from Karan Gaur makes the whole story appealing and edged.

Phobia Movie ZEE5 Spirited Blogger

Bollywood has been superlative in terms of cinema, and the above mentioned are a few movies that did not get the response from the audience. Had they got the right amount of attention, many of them would have ended up as future classics. Nonetheless, they are spectacular in their own way. Watch them on ZEE5 whenever you want.

John Abraham’s Espionage RAW – Romeo Akbar Walter Bollywood Movie Review

RAW - Romeo Akbar Walter Movie Review – Spirited Blogger

Starring John Abraham, Mouni Roy, Jackie Shroff, Sikandar Kher and Raghubir Yadav in key roles, RAW – Romeo Akbar Walter has been directed by Robbie Grewal. Music director: Ankit Tiwari, Shabbir Ahmed, Sohail Sen, Hanif Shaikh, Raaj Aashoo.

We see there are ample movies being made that based on the martyr and the warriors of our nation we have had since ages, in fact, we see them all since our independence and post that era as well. But, what Romeo Akbar Walter has done is immensely marvellous. This is my personal view on the movie – coming to the story, it has nailed like any other RAW and intelligence agencies movies in Bollywood, but what makes me intrigued is the ability to pull it off with the niche that it almost felt that it can be an anti-Indian movie. Nonetheless, it wasn’t!!

To start with RAW – Romeo Akbar Walter

can be a slow burner for many as the pace goes like a turtle but later it cleans up the mess from our nation during the times of 1971 war and post that when Walter Khan (John Abraham) soars into the patriotic Indian agent working on the lands of Pakistan.

RAW - Romeo Akbar Walter Movie Review – Spirited Blogger

The story

The first half, in specific, is quite deliberate and takes its own time for the setup and build up. You might feel that nothing’s really up-to-the-minute here in this movie and it is getting emotional on every front unnecessary, but nah, by the end of the film, it all makes sense. The writing is pretty good I must say and the screenplay is a bit precarious. I personally loved the twists in the movie but was hoping to have more; however, no offence but the script perhaps demanded the same.

Romeo (John Abraham) played a spy but was shown as a bank cashier who was then recruited by India’s foreign intelligence agency — the Research and Analysis Wing (RAW). They believe he’s a master of disguise and can operate as Akbar, India’s undercover agent in Pok (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) – all these events are during the time around 1971 Indo-Pak war. He pulled it off strategically and for me, it is one of the most amazing works of John post-Madras Café.

I quite like the entry of Sikandar Kher – the moment he steps in the movie the twists and the drama enthralled the audience. I would like to see more of him in films and of Raghubir Yadav as well as they both are fabulous actors in their own genre and Kher has to be pulled off more. Mouni Roy needs to work on acting skills more, it’s nothing like she isn’t one but for movies and great cinema she had to choose what makes her comfortable. Needless to say about amazing work done by Jackie Shroff, it was a delight to see him on the screen in such a strong character.

RAW - Romeo Akbar Walter Movie Review – Spirited Blogger

My ratings: 3.5 out of 5 stars (only for John Abraham)

Critic Review: A bit slow movie at pace but in the end has triggered the audience with patriotism and real station between India and Pakistan.

PS: A definitely must watch a movie for John and his team, Robbie Grewal god job done. Go watch it guys.

Captain Marvel has jumped the ladder in the Marvel-DC series – Movie Review

This movie has climbed higher and has raced faster in the captain marvel series. It is topping the charts the second week too on the box office. The global box office collection is yet another milestone in the process. The MCU flick has already earned another $69.3 million in North America, a drop of 55% from its $153.4m debut frame. This is, quite outspokenly, a deeply dreary result, as it’s neither a super-duper hold nor a super-super drop. It is more-or-less on par with the various Hunger Games movies and most MCU flicks (Guardians of the Galaxy, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Ant-Man and Thor: The Dark World among others).

Movie Review - Captain Marvel

The story has Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and she became the universe’s most powerful heroes when Earth is caught in the middle of a galactic war. This war is between two alien races. The story is set in the 1990s and is a whole new adventure from previously unseen period movies in the history of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. During the scenes, you would also feel that it is powerful than the Thanos as well. Captain Marvel is an extraterrestrial Kree warrior who has a connection to Erth and sees the glimpses of her life on a planet where there is life. It all started when Captain Marvel finds herself caught in the middle of an intergalactic battle between her people and the Skrulls. She saw herself living on earth 1995, and those memories keep on recurring her mind as U.S. Air Force pilot Carol Danvers. With the help from Nick Fury, Captain Marvel she tries to reveal the secrets of her past while hitching her special superpowers as the Marvel Captian to end the war with the evil Skrulls.

Movie Review - Captain Marvel

The film offers several positive messages related to perseverance, integrity, and more, but the greatest takeaway is watching a fearless, confident, mighty woman become a superhero. Carol Danvers is a fantastic role model: She always sees herself as capable, she’s not objectified, male counterparts recognize her intelligence and strength, and she has a strong sense of integrity. Women support women, the characters are diverse, ageism is nonexistent, and romance doesn’t figure into things at all.

Luka-Chuppi-review-feat-Kartik-Aaryan-Kriti-Sanon1-1.jpg

ShiviMarch 15, 20195min4600

The story is quirky and upbeat – Luka Chupi – Movie Review

Luka Chupi – Movie Review

The story starts with a sparky topic of live-in relationships which is still a taboo in our society. What happens is that a popular actor Nazim Khan reveals his live-in relationship on the news and that’s when the whole issue and propaganda of the live-in relationship started. It became a national issue in Mathura. Further, in the story, the reporter Guddu (Kartik Aaryan) and his associate Rashmi (Kriti Sanon) fall in love with each other. The first half is jam-packed with some sequences that are not quite appealing but yes the one-liners and the dialogue delivery of Kartik Aaryan is falling flat as a pancake. Kartik Aaryan is a huge misfit at places despite the fact his one-liners were fantastic. Also, I would like to mention that the ace actor Pankaj Tripathi was not used at his best in the movie. Kriti Sanon looks gorgeous but doesn’t get anything to recur the magic she displayed in Bareilly Ki Barfi. Pankaj’s presence makes some scenes manageable but an actor of stature, doing this – it’s just deplorable.

Luka Chupi – Movie Review

Directed by debutant Laxman Utekar and produced by Dinesh Vijan, the film will hit the screens on March 1, 2019. It also features actors Aparshakti Khurana, Pankaj Tripathi and Vinay Pathak in key roles. For me, Luka Chuppi’ is a situational comedy from the word go and it also has a strong point to put about live-in relationships. According to t me, the way it has been portrayed was good enough as this is a serious topic in Indian societies.  What starts as a news story for a local reporter Guddu, turns into his own love story with hilarious complications. But peddling along are a host of other societal issues like misogyny, gender inequality, caste bias and moral policing that are tackled in a funny and harmless way. Though, there is barely a dull moment in the film that never takes itself too extremely. As a debutante, director Laxman Utekar does a superb job of giving us a bunch of idiosyncratic letterings in rare situations. Starting with the film’s hero Kartik Aaryan, who looks way too refined for his small-town character, but along the way, you soon start rooting for him. Whether he is casing a story or running for cover himself – Kartik exudes an engaging charm that is relatable.

Luka Chupi – Movie Review

My ratings: 3.5/5

Overall, ‘Luka Chuppi’ is an amusing ride that never gets too preachy or scratchy for the family audience. It’s a spotless entertainer with a message that’s not too loud, but clear, for sure.

Son Chiraiya – Movie Review
Son Chiraiya – Movie Review

Son Chiraiya is a story that tells us about of Chambal Ghati – India which widely known for a pack of rebels and is marked for dacoits as well. Since ages, we all have been hearing and reading a lot of tales about Chambal Ghati. The dacoits have their own set of rules on which they live on and adhere to them quite strictly. Additionally, they have a regime that they will not harm females and children. The story is set on of the gang from Chambal – The Beehad gang, which is being cursed by some circumstances when they were robbing a house. The group then pursues to rob a wedding, however, later the conditions make changeovers and they get their backs against the wall. Later in the movie, you will see a large size of dacoits was killed however, a minority of dacoits including Lakhan (Sushant Singh) succeeded to escape. After that, Lakhan had a new objective as during the escape he meets Indumati (Pednekar) with a little girl named Son Chiraiya who was a rape victim and needed help to survive and need to be taken to the hospital within 48 hours, else she will die.

Son Chiraiya – Movie Review
Son Chiraiya – Movie Review

The story moves ahead with this same notion and Lakhan (Sushant Singh) stayed on his promise to make the gang free from the curse that everybody has been suffering from. For me, it actually catered to the niche audience and the actors including the supporting staff made it happen to their best. Sushant Singh Rajput played the penetrating character of Lakhan and it is well-thought-out one of the best performance by him. Ashutosh Rana and Manoj Bajpayee are dexterous as ever. Apart from that Bhumi Pednekar fits flawlessly in the role of Indumati Tomar. The film is crammed with action and while you watch it you feel like a trip to the small yet muddled villages of Chambal. Apart from that, the film also delivers some loud messages and issues that are still seen in modern India. It depicts some of the biggest issues like misogyny and the patriarchal society, which is dreadful to watch but reality.

My ratings: I would give it a 4/5 star.

Very well-made film that caters to a niche audience. You need to have a strong stomach to absorb #SonChiriya. Violent, disturbing, shocking, with a horrifying twist. Fantastic performances by all. #SonChiriyaReview pic.twitter.com/umlq3pG1LI

The Christmas is on the roll and the entire town will paint red and white. On this occasion, kids had a chance to watch Grinch a new movie released last week. Movies and books have a special place in our lives from all the times and kids love to read as they connect with their lives and get crazy about them. At times it a terrible feeling to just sit and read but this week’s movie has a lot of love and true message for kids and for parents. The Grinch gives the archetypal Seuss foundation and its elements that are brightly animated and update that’s sturdily appropriate for younger viewers without adding considerably to the story’s legacy. If anything, which indicates that good people can effortlessly turn awful so, I can’t help but feel that the story of Dr. Seuss’s “How the Grinch Stole Christmas, was supposed to happen in the real world. Then it would end up with all the people of Whoville that are just going paranoid and pampering in an orgy of vengeance and hate after discovering out that all their Christmas presents just vanished. But as the holidays are upon us now and the kids will gonna have fun, and the children need to be entertained, so here’s my review of a new animated Grinch movie… Common let’s dive into

The story:

Each year at Christmas they disturb his quiet solitude with their progressively bigger, brighter and brasher merriments. When the Whos announce they are going to make Christmas three times bigger this year, the Grinch grasps there is only one way for him to advance some concord and quiet: he must steal Christmas. To do so, he plumps he will pose as Santa Claus on Christmas Eve, even profitable so far as to trap a lackadaisical misfit reindeer to pull his sleigh. Meanwhile, down in Who-ville, Cindy-Lou Who-a young girl teeming with holiday cheer-plots with her gang of friends to trap Santa Claus as he makes his Christmas Eve circles so that she can thank him for help for her clichéd single mother. As Christmas approaches, however, her good-natured scheme impends to collide with the Grinch’s wicked one. Will Cindy-Lou achieve her goal of lastly meeting Santa Claus? Will the Grinch prosper in quieting the Whos’ holiday cheer once and for all?

Benedict Cumberbatch expresses a smaller amount of sinister version of Dr Seuss’s green meanie in a festive mode feel-good animation. From Minions creators Illumination, Pharrell Williams recounts this gorgeous animated remake of Dr Seuss’s 1957 children’s book How the Grinch Stole Christmas! This version can be a bit tight as compared with the softer version than the 1966 cartoon original (narrated by Boris Karloff), apparently flattening out his menacing smirk and visualizing his bright green fur as fine and strokably fuzzy. Voiced by Benedict Cumberbatch, the Christmas grumble is an expressive eater who wears “Mold Spice” deodorant and lives all alone with his pet dog, Max. He lives in a cave on the outskirts of Whoville, home to a civic life of Santa devotees.

The Credits:

Directors: Yarrow Cheney, Scott Mosier

Music director: Danny Elfman

Narrated by: Pharrell Williams

Producers: Chris Meledandri, Janet Healy

My Ratings: 3 star

My critic review: Though I’m a big fan of Grinch comic series and was very curious as it is from the makers of Despicable, but a bit disappointed on the tightness and the hold of the movie.  But I feel Grinch was not a bad boy he was alone and was suffering from lonely issues, thus, I felt it has been better, although I found the creative visuals to be super great and awesome, visually they are attractive enough to watch.

Merry Christmas! Cheers!

What a movie to write for – Stree Movie Review – here’s my take on it – Rajkummar Rao, Shraddha Kapoor starrer one of the finest and the most original films of 2018. Stree marries the notion of broad comedy with horror, dark humour, and the social attire attached to it – that brings life to the story.

A town which happens to be in the grip of terror and covered by the tales of mysterious woman, who is ghost and calls the men by their name and then pull them towards her, finally abducting them, the funny and the horrified part of the story is that the Stree leaves the clothes behind and take the men. In spite of all little loophole sand stuff in the movie and all that ambiguous ideas, Stree is definitely an entertaining film. This is an untried comedy, which creates an unnerving atmosphere and certainly manages to be witty, funny and surely scary at the same time. Chanderi’s wonder boy was finally tailored extraordinaire, where the  Vicky (Rajkummar Rao) falls in love with a mysterious girl (Shraddha Kapoor) who just comes once a year for the puja and at the puja time. But, her disappearing act involved her friends in suspicion and they start thinking that she could be the Stree haunting the city for long.

The review: The ingrained prejudice against women and chauvinism are some of the social evils that exist in our society and eats the world out there. So, it doesn’t matter whether you’re educated or you are a civilized person, women have always had been on the vulnerable side and had to always play second fiddle in the male-dominant system – this is the irony of our Indian society. The world one day would positively, do well to give every woman far more respect they deserve. To see such an apposite conversation especially, unfold in a horror-comedy like Stree, was a refreshing and unique experience for me. But, it feels a bit juddering as well, it is also being compared with Bhool Bhulaiya starring Akshaya Kumar and Vidhya Balan – but when the film pokes fun at horror film ideas and finally entertains the audience with its jibes, unexpectedly bursts out into a comment on radicalism. In a bid to be socially germane, Stree ends up being a little too preachy but the comic timings of Raj Kumar Rao and the professor – Pankaj Tripathi was epic.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi

Cast: Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Shergill, Jassie Gill, Diana Penty

Director: Mudassar Aziz

Rating: 3.5/5

Sonakshi Sinha and Diana Penty starrer ‘Happy Phirr Bhaag Jayegi‘ released at the theatres this week. The film has been enjoyed by the audience who eagerly purchased their first-day first show tickets for the movie. In the public review, few said Sonakshi Sinha has shown a huge improvement in her craft. However, there was a comparison between the two actresses as well, Diana and Sonakshi, as their roles had different demands and responsibilities.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Review - 2018 | Movie Review
Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Review – 2018 | Movie Review

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi had a slow start at the box office. The Sonakshi Sinha starrer earned only Rs 2.70 crore. Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi is the sequel to 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi, and stars Sonakshi Sinha, Jimmy Sheirgill, Ali Fazal and Jassi Gill. Trade analyst Taran Adarsh tweeted out the figures, saying, “#HappyPhirrBhagJayegi has a slow start on Day 1… Fared better in North… Needs to witness substantial growth over the weekend + maintain a strong trend on weekdays to leave a mark… Fri ₹ 2.70 cr. India biz… The first part had collected ₹ 2.32 cr on Day 1.”

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Review - 2018 | Movie Review

My review: The 2016 film Happy Bhag Jayegi was a surprisingly bubbly brew, an undistinguished yet boisterous comedy about a runaway bride. The sequel is set in Shanghai and tries too hard to set the base as it was a new land. Nonetheless, Jimmy Shergill steals the show more than Sonakshi Sinha as he is the man who is doomed to falling for girls – named Happy. The gags and the laugh quotient failed at places as the audience is comparing from the previous one. In between due to this the film seemed over longing and exhausting. How I wish these movies were about Bagga.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Review - 2018 | Movie Review

Also, for me it is absolutely a must watch the show – for a lot of reasons but yes the lack of consistency and the sharp lines with a quick wit often seemed lapsing into the puerile. Also, if someone were to get down to “reading” things seriously and watch the dialogues trying to analyse then all that actually transpires in to the on-screen Shanghai – having said this Aziz’s attempt to highlight the China’s political and economic domination of the region was great but guess audience would have loved to have a more humorous way on it.

That is, using a Bollywood film as a tool, at a time when the likes of Dangal have been reigning at the Chinese box office. From noodles to fake goods to “shey shey” (with ‘Mera naam chin chin choon’ in the background) everything Chinese is game. In fact, India, with a little help from Pakistan, is made to come out much smarter than the Chinese themselves on their home turf at that. Above all the Pakistani Policeman – the character played by Piyush Mishra is a secret laugh gig in the film, in fact, Bagga and Afridi’s timing on comedy and the best-plotted dialogues is the source of success for the film.

Happy Phirr Bhag Jayegi Review - 2018 | Movie Review

Overall the first one was an epic but the second one misses out of a lot of things on the charts but yes, the Jimmy Shergill steals the show with no girl in the hand.

Mission Impossible Fallout review - Spirited Blogger
Mission Impossible Fallout review – Spirited Blogger

Tom Cruise is willing to die for our love of cinema, well; this is the latest in a lot of Ethan Hunt’s mission impossible. This Tom Cruise’s latest film has some of the greatest action ever put on film, and a plot that every Indian can relate to and had a great time watching it.

My ratings: 4/5

Director – Christopher McQuarrie

Producers –  Tom CruiseChristopher McQuarrieJ.J. AbramsDana Goldberg

Cast – Tom Cruise, Henry Cavill, Simon Pegg, Ving Rhames, Rebecca Ferguson, Sean Harris, Michelle Monaghan

The catch of the movie is that – There are few things in life more pleasurable than watching Tom Cruise do things and it is even if he has been doing the same for 22 years. And on a serious note it has been a long one since Ethan Hunt started out on the big screen – once there was a TV version, where Bill Clinton occupied the White House and Boris Yeltsin the Kremlin. The latter two have been done and dusted, but Cruise is still saving the world clad in a leather jacket — without a single drop of sweat, but often now showing a grey straw. And this Mission: Impossible, his sixth may be his best yet, gifting not just the action but it sizzles with a larger than life action which we all follow.

Mission Impossible Fallout review - Spirited Blogger

But he is energetic to the proceedings, particularly towards the third act. Where the risk of the cutting to the chase – and then conveniently ignoring the reconnaissance elements of the story came into the picture – then thinking Ohh, now let’s just skip to the ending. You’ve seen bits of it in the trailers, and now most of you must have seen the movie – and you’ve perhaps heard that it’s set in Kashmir – yeah, it’s true, although our respected censor board has ensured that the word ‘Kashmir’ shall not be spoken in the film – but you’re simply unrehearsed for the sheer intensity of the sequence – it is brilliant, as it is Kashmir.

Because that’s what we want, don’t we, after the six movies in a row – We want to learn more about Ethan Hunt, about is that motivates him to risk his life every day. So, with James Bond, it was Queen and country; with Jason Bourne, it was a personal quest, but with Ethan Hunt, it has always been about his friends, his team, and the relationships he has built over the years, notwithstanding that, being emotional on can only get him into more trouble. Alas, that’s what Tom Cruise is.

Mission Impossible Fallout review - Spirited Blogger

To me, the series has always been are super thriller and have great moments attached to it. For example – whenever I see any of the series under this lot, and you can substantiate this – by remembering the highlights from the previous films like the Burj Khalifa sequence, Owen Davian’s threats and the ingenious Scooby Doo-esque unmaskings – but at times many of the final plots are not recalled. The plot involved invariably international arms dealers and turncoat handlers, shady organisations and a comprehensive and utter lack of faith in Ethan and his IMF crew.

In this consideration, the Fallout is classic Mission Impossible. It is also perhaps the first film in the series that will make you feel close to the very first and direct sequel to its immediate predecessor – 2015’s Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation. The most understandable connective tissue, besides director Christopher McQuarrie of course, is the villain, Solomon Lane.

Dhadak Movie Review Spirited Blogger

The original #Sairat as #Dhadak – the comeback review

The heart of the movie remains intact as the original with a focus on making the story a bit more cinematic the way #Dharmaproduction is known for. But in point of view, the essence of the original seems to be lost in the remake. The Twitterati’s too seem to be dissatisfactory with the whole charm and the newbies in #Bollywood.

The take on the story

The societal stigma on High caste and low caste has been prevailing in our country since decades and we have numerous love stories failing in this wrath of demons. From this classic backbone of beautiful yet painful love stories comes Sairat – the #Marathiblockbuster (2016) by the filmmaker Nagraj Manjule who took the tried-and-tested Romeo and Juliet love story which was placed in a setting where the conflict rose from caste and socio-economic and divide the deep-rooted cultures and regions.
The Marathi film’s Hindi adaptation – Dhadak too finds a rebellious zone of class division in our cultures. The story revolves between a heritage-haveli-residing girl and a boutique-cafe-running boy. You will find the mentions of ‘oonchi jaati’ (high caste) by the boy’s father and on the other hand the political campaigns and gamut of the girl’s father – Ashutosh Rana.

The story is mugged of surface and shade from Bittergaon village in central Maharashtra to a tourism-brochure version of Udaipur, where it is centred on the romance between Madhukar aka Madhu (Ishaan Khatter) and Parthavi (Janhvi Kapoor). The audience would relate to the dialogue – where the girl’s neta father declares, “Udaipur ki izzat uske sanskaaron mein hai (the honour of Udaipur lies in its values)”. – which directly gives a stink of caste division and societal taboos. Filmmaker Shashank Khaitan displays a full commitment to societal resistance but you will not find an interest in the social injustice on whose back this nonessential setup is built.

In the original film – Sairat the couple shifts to Hyderabad and (Parshya and Archie) were put through the wringer and hard times as they find a new life. In Dhadak, Madhu and Parthavi inland up in Kolkata, but we would see that their struggle is relatively sterile, or we can say not that raw as it can best be described as the Dharma Productions version of a hard life.

The cast and the music though bring out the justice and of course when it is Karan Johar’s version of films – the location, sets, colours are always vibrant. Nonetheless, overall a onetime watch that is will be lured to the youth and the teenage lovers.

Critical review

For me, it is well crafted and reaches out to the audience by touching the hearts in a soft manner. With all the strengths and weaknesses, Dhadak tries to highlight some of the shocking truths about our society and caste system and for which it is a worthy watch. Where the story nicely depicted the innocence and charm of the lovers – the first half seemed to be challenging in terms of pace, and the essence of the societal norms and battle against all odds for the sake of love. On the other hand, the second half failed to put it through the notion of going. Even the final jolt couldn’t shake the audience as compared with the masterpiece – Sairat सैराट.

I would rate it a 3.5 star and a one-time watch
