Vihan International Art Festival, Bhopal celebrates art, culture, and climate change every year. This year is the second with stunning performances and blend of global diversity. VIFA 2016-2017 is being presented by Vihaan Drama Works in collaboration with Ministry of Culture, M.P. Government and AISECT University!
VIFA is an annual event of Vihaan (means Dawn) which is an institution of arts in Bhopal.Established in the year 2011, Vihaan works on the philosophy of creating a space for young and zealous artists to get involved and delve in the diversified field of theater, music, designing, writing, photography, film making and other performing and fine arts. The idea is to provide a distinctive creatively energized atmosphere to the talented artists to learn and explore through practice. Vihaan has three verticals Vihaan Drama Works, Vihaan Picture Works and Vihaan Design Works. We also have a children theatre wing named SwapnYaan where children from 3 to 15 years learn and enjoy theatrical practices. Every wing has a separate and dedicated team which works 365 days for the development, training and performance. The very concept of working (which we can proud of) is our training of arts which we are providing free of cost since last 5 years.
On the Sixth day of #Vifa 2016-17 I witnessed two wonderful performances at Shaheed Bhawan, Bhopal. In this blog I would like to talk about the first solo performance of “Maa Mujhe Tagore Bana De” by Lucky Gupta at Shaheed at open air. The chill and freeze too can’t stop the audience to get awe-struck with the invigorating act from LuckyJee. Surprised to see how he could connect with the audience in an open air with cold breeze. There were children, youngsters and all-aged audience who were enjoying the soulful act presented by LuckyJee. It was captivating play about a story of a child and his harsh struggle for education and moving high in his life.
With this story he connected strings on child education, child labour, poverty, childhood issues, to give an insight how life is still to be corrected or made better in many parts of our world, especially in India. The most beautiful part of this play was the connect with the urban audience on how a child can become “Tagore “. Everyone has a “Tagore” in them, we just need push our instincts and will. This powerful performance was his 1016th intriguing audience and kids in this cold weather.
